Since Maile and Laina were napping I snagged my right-hand man to do some quick shopping. Meet Kainoa! Kainoa enjoys climbing chairs, flipping light switches, and pushing me out of the kitchen. He is a busy little boy and he was eager to help me get started with this project: First stop: Craft store.
Ribbon. Check.
Pumpkins. Check. (side note: pumpkins are extremely high in fiber…)
The girls were up when we got home so we laid out our materials and got busy. Maile is dictated the design of just about every pumpkin we decorated…she’s very particular.
Just look at the focus! We hot glued each ribbon down four sides of the pumpkins…
And then finished them off with a bow.
A very festive decorative piece if I do say so myself.
We just went the sticker route with Laina. Mommy was getting weak…
The girls were hard at work!
Maile made this one for her preschool teacher. She would NOT let me go down the center of the sequin strips with the hello kitty ribbon…I wanted a nice layered/bordered affect, but she insisted on wrapping the extra hello kitty ribbon AROUND the pumpkin instead. I love it when kids come up with original stuff…so of course I obeyed.
And this one is for her other teacher…
The finished product…
What a fun little project…now my girls won’t stop talking about Halloween.
