This is not my season.
Another failed craft.
Let’s not kid ourselves here. I. Am. Not. Crafty. I can be creative. But I’m not crafty. I am not detail oriented whatsoever. They always look like fun, but I always mess them up.
Maile came to me a couple weeks ago with a picture from a magazine of a pumpkin that had been painted with a polk-a-dot pattern:
Cute right? It looks super easy. I didn’t read the directions exactly, because I felt like I could pretty easily duplicate what I had seen. How hard could it be right?
So I cut out a bunch of circles and diamonds and Maile taped them all over her pumpkin.
So far so good. She started painting it with this cheap purple paint we had, but you could still see orange under it so I had an AWESOME idea…
Spray paint the thing PINK! How cute. Maile had a blast painting it (and half our lawn) and it was pretty fast and painless.Perfection:
But when it dried she started peeling the shapes off and was all “it doesn’t look right mom…” and I was all “it’s cute”, trying to make it better, and she was all “no it’s not, it’s ga-ROSS.”
So we did the only thing we could do.We painted it pink.
So let me have it crafty friends…where did we go wrong on this one??
