I did something to my back on Friday afternoon. I’ve done this before. Never this bad. I couldn’t lift anything and walking up the stairs was ridiculously painful. I’m pretty sure all the lifting I do is what causes it.
Four of the kids in the daycare are under the age of four so we’re looking at constant lifting for meals, diaper changes, and love throughout the day. I’m only 29 though…come on back! I should be able to handle it. By the time the last kids were picked up I didn’t think I’d be able to take the kids trick or treating with Pat. Pat convinced me that walking around was the best thing I could do for it though, and I tagged along anyways.
The kids were ADORABLE trick or treating. Maile turned out to be a gorgeous little butterfly and I was happy to see her excited about her costume. You could tell she felt like a million bucks.
Blondie was hilarious to watch too. She dressed up as Minnie Mouse and it was her first time ever trick or treating. At every door she’d start knocking and repeatedly call out “trick OR treat, trick OR treat”. Maile kept correcting her “no, not yet…ya gotta wait, not yet…” They were great.
Here’s a little clip of the girls trick or treating:
After a trip around the block with Handyman, Lolo and their kids we headed to my Mom’s for dinner and met up with Baby, Smart Ass and the baby boy cousins.
Here’s a short clip of Smart Ass dressed up as, and acting like, a giant nerd:
By the end of the night the kids were sugar crashing and I couldn’t stand up straight. I was hunched over like a little old lady and crawled up the stairs to bed when we got home. I took a vicodin left over from labor with Kainoa and I’m pretty sure it was expired. I didn’t feel high OR tired after taking it and I had been looking forward to feeling both. I was sure I’d have to call in sick for Monday and that’s a big deal. I call in sick MAYBE once a year. It’s not really an option for me.
