It’s Really Gonna Work This Time

Ohhhhhh this is going to be good. It’s that time. Sorry all you non-reality-bachelor watchers, but I’ve been waiting long and hard for this show to come back and Monday night was the grand opening.

I was not disappointed.

The Bachelor this season is Jason.

Jason was the one left standing last season when DeAnna picked surfer boy Jesse over him. He was heart broken, but gets the last laugh now as the Bachelor. I think it’s kind of funny how these women are just falling all over him and calling him gorgeous and hot. Jason is not gorgeous. He’s cute. He’s sweet. He’s that nice guy that should finish last, but got a lucky break and now gets to pick a “wife”. But he’s not hot.

The first episode of the season is one of my favorite episodes for the following reasons:

1.) We get to meet all the women and hear about how obsessed they are over a man they’ve never met. And then we get to watch them do something special in an attempt to make him remember them…like recite a poem or make him waltz or force him to eat a hot dog.

2.) There’s always a psycho girl that cries at the end because she just KNEW she was meant for him and that that their wedding was going to be on a beach in front of 40 to 50 people and that he’s made a terrible mistake.

3.) There’s always a psycho girl that somehow manages to fly under the radar and sticks around and over drinks and gets sloppy and makes the show worth watching.

4.) I’m reminded of how geographically challenged I am, like when “Nikki from Blue Island, IL” introduced herself and Jason was all “where are you from” and she was all “Chicago” and I was all “huh-uh! She’s from Illinois!!”

Ahem.

Don’t hate me ’cause you ain’t me.

5.) All the girls, and the host, and Jason, (and me) are all worked up and believe that Jason’s next “wife” is “in that room” somewhere, even though nobody EVER gets married off that show and lives happily ever after. (Trista and Ryan are weird and don’t count).

Here are my faves!

Melissa:

She’s from Dallas…a former Dallas cheerleader. Cute and happy…slightly trying too hard to be funny, but I still like her.

Raquel:

She’s from Brazil is totally cute and has that foreign accent I love so much in a woman. The only thing I don’t like about her is that after she had her time with Jason she “stole” him back two more times and it made her look a little insecure…and desperate.

Lauren was my all time favorite.

She was the most normal of all the girls and by “normal” I mean she was like us. She had a sense of humor, she seemed natural, she was beautiful (that’s the “us” part) and I really really like her. I like her so much that if she doesn’t get picked I’m going to beg ABC to make her the next Bachelorette and then I’m going to go on the show to win her love.

Or maybe I’ll ask MTV to put her on “A Shot At Love”…I think I’d have more of a chance over there.

You all really think I’m a lesbian right now, don’t you.

(note to self: publish “reasons I love my husband” post asap).

But all of that is not what’s got me so wound up right now. This is really great. The previews they played afterwards of what to expect this season showed DeAnna coming BACK!

DeAnna Pappas Pictures, Images and Photos

Remember when I posted this video of Jesse all heartbroken beause DeAnna broke off the engagement. Well now she’s coming back to the Bachelor to try and get Jason back claiming she made the wrong CHOICE!

All the girls freak out and start crying and Jason is confused and crying and their is so much ridiculous drama my little heart can hardly STAND it!

Well played ABC. Well played.
