The cooking wine taste was hilarious!
Sorry about your daughter throwing a tantrum at the party. My kids have flipped out like that before but luckily it has been at home. My 9 year old daughter still throws tantrums to rival any 2 year old on occassion. Seriously being a parent is hard!
HILARIOUS – the wine part, not the tantrum! Great, great stuff!
Oh.. man I can only imagine. So sorry.
OMG!!! I love it, I absolutely love this vlog!!! I am not alone, thank you!!! I couldn’t help but laugh because I have so been there. And the wine part made it even better. Wine keeps me sane. :) Im so disappointed I couldn’t go to Baltimore. I would have love to meet you!
I’ll say in advance, sorry this is so long but your video really spoke to me and the words came pouring out along with the reliving of ickyness… Okay, here’s my response: Why do they do this! I had the same problem last night with my 4-year-old. It was her birthday and we were going to Red Lobster (I know, what?!?! but she chose it. Only because she liked the lobsters in the tank… and if I had known *that* before she told my mom and the whole Red Lobster for dinner became the plan, I would have told her that we could go to Burger King and they would give her a CROWN! This might have swayed her because they totally don’t let you keep a lobster when you leave Red Lobster… not a live one anyway and who wants a dead lobster that I can’t cook anyway. Not me.) and she had a tantrum over the way her dress felt, the scratchy tag (that I had already removed), the sleeves being too long, the sleeves I rolled up being too short, her shoes not fitting right, her brother touching her stuff, her babydoll and bag MIA, just everything she could fuss about, she did for about 2 hours. Then I told her that if she did not stop crying, we wouldn’t go to the restaurant. Which only made her cry and scream (literally scream) louder. In the driveway. On a nice day. With our neighbors’ windows open to enjoy the breeze. Hubby said “let’s just get her in the car” so I did and we left (I can just imagine her thinking “HA! Way to stick to your word mommy. You’re silly and I’ll never believe you again!”). She was fine the entire rest of the night until she got mad about something later and I bribed her with some chocolate covered pretzels. Gotta get more of those from Walmart. Yum.
Oh, and I don’t condone bribery but I’m a huge fan of some peace and quiet after the baby goes to bed so I’ve been using it a lot more lately. Oops.
I’m actually a big fan of bribery. :) Whatever keeps the peace! I find that picking my battles is important…I don’t need to push and insist a sleepy child to put her shoes on the right way. There are some things you just have to let up on and move forward. I hate punishing them for every little thing!
Ohhh man. This was great. Honest. I can so see this.
And yeah–our family’s kids are like that too. Staring askance at the public-screamers while they pitch things at home…. hehe.
I found you off Life: Narrated by Lacey, from there to Cassagram…to you:)
I’m pretty sure I’ll be back.
And I’m jealous of your on-camera composure. ;)
p.s. Spanking is sometimes the best way to go. I was, and will do it in the future…though I’ve heard sometimes that it’s really hard to do so….there are those times, as you said!
My goodness! You are so funny! Love your dry sense of humor and I love this story! My sister has four kiddos and this sounds like one of her stories.
