Like any good sisters Maile and Laina can be best friends and they can be worst enemies. These two are together NONstop. More so than they are with me, they are with each other. Maile picks on Laina. Laina screams. Laina calls Maile poopy head. Maile screams. Maile hits Laina. Laina screams. Laina takes Maile’s toy. Maile screams. It’s never ending. I rarely leave with one and not the other. They are ALWAYS together.
And yet.
When all of their daycare friends come over to play…who do you think Maile and Laina are drawn to?
Each other.
And when Maile is sick and I put her bed on the landing of the stairs so that she can be closer to the hub bub of the daycare because that’s how I roll…what do you think Laina does?
Laina, who can play with all of her friends and participate in activities and circle time and eat snacks and for once NOT be bothered by her older/dominating sister.
Laina, who could rule the roost with Maile out of commission.
Laina, who could have her mom’s attention all to herself and first pick of a coloring picture from the treasured My Little Ponies coloring book.
The world is her oyster (I’ll pretend to know what that means) and yet I find her here:
On the landing of the stairs with a load of toys playing next to her sister. How precious is that?
