What I’m thankful for:
The ultra sound couldn’t have gone better yesterday. Maile was scared when she had to lay down in that dim room, I should have done a better job of describing what was going to happen. But she braved it and did great. When they highlighted the lump in her neck they pointed out that there was blood flow which means we’re just dealing with a swollen lymph node.
I officially don’t like the word lymph node or cyst. But I do like the fact that we’re not dealing with anything serious. I didn’t THINK it would be anything serious, but your mind can’t help but go there sometimes.
Needless to say, I am relieved that my biggest problem right now is just getting her to take her antibiotics. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
What picture I like from this week:
What I want:
What I bought this week…and you might not like it…but think “daycare”…”colorful”….”kids”….”happy”:
It’ll grow on you. Oh and then a rug to go with it:
Oh and I didn’t actually BUY the sofa…just the slipcover…I feel the need to clarify.
What book I finished:
Big fan of Philippa Gregory. This book received an 8.8 on my handy dandy rating scale. That means I liked it, I recommend it, but I wasn’t moved by it. Still…I’m glad I read it and I couldn’t put it down.
What I’m reading now:
I just started it…about 15 pages in and it’s slightly entertaining…I’m intrigued, but I don’t really know what it’s supposed to be about. Just a bunch of letters back and forth between some people right now…
This one is about a girl who’s Jewish family escaped Germany just before Hitler got down to business. China was one of the only countries accepting refugees at that time and I’m still at the beginning where she’s describing how her family has to start over with absolutely nothing. They are totally destitute and have to somehow manage to make a living in a country where they can’t even speak the language.
And by the way, who sent me that book??? Was it one of you? It just showed up for me in the mail from a name I don’t recognize. NO idea…did I win it?? Have I been entering bloggy giveaways in my sleep again?? Damn. I hate it when I do that.
What’s happening in blogland:
I have a blog on my blog roll that I’ve been reading every now and again called “Little April Rose”. It’s about a mom who was pregnant but her doctors predicted her baby “April” would not survive.
Every week the mom wrote about her feelings and hopes for her pregnancy. The baby was growing, she was beating the odds, God was blessing her, blah blah blah. And then she had the baby at home, but the baby died just hours later. Thousands and thousands of people were flocking to her site to offer support.
And then she was outed.
That’s right…it was all a total hoax. She drove up traffic to her blog and carried on like an idiot, but it was all a complete lie. Read the story here.
I don’t know…I think that lady needs help, but I’m kind of glad it was a hoax. And I’m REALLY glad that I didn’t get scammed on that one!!! Seeeee….maybe I AM smarter than I look.
