I think yesterday marks the first day ever that I received more comments than workshop participants. Wow!! You guys really love my boy. You really do. Maybe we can get him to start his own blog. Maybe he can start spending his time writing out his feelings instead of screaming them at me in frustration all day. :) Sounds like a deal.
So here are some things I’ve made a mental note to talk to you about, but never did.
1.) I found these pins on Etsy and I was thinking they might be perfect for that potty trainer in your family.
2.) I finished these two books and that brings my 2009 books read grand total up to 14. I’m proud, can’t you tell. Even though it took me forever to read them.
This book:
was a little slow going at the beginning. It’s written in letter format so it goes pretty quickly, but there are a handful of different people writing the letters so it takes a little concentration to remember who’s who. Once the story line starts to develop though (a writer doing research on occupation of the island during WWII and how it affected the lives of the people living there) it was hard for me to put down. And then the ending…oh the ending. It definitely gave me the warm feeling you get all over when you’ve finished a good book.
I gave it an 8.9.
This book:
Is a true story written by a girl who barely escaped Nazi Germany with her Jewish family. They fled to Shanghai, one of the only countries accepting Jewish refugees and lived in horrid conditions as they waited for the war to end and a chance to move to America.
She tells a story we rarely hear about. I had no idea there were Jewish refugee camps in Shanghai…so it was really interesting to learn about that aspect of the war. Not to mention some pretty unbelievable things happened to this girl while living there.
I don’t even know where I got that book from. It just showed up in the mail in a kind of creepy “hey I never ordered this…” kind of way. I wish I would get packages from Victoria’s Secret in that same manner. And yet.
3.) Have you guys seen these??
How the heck is this kind of test supposed to know if your child has a penis or not? I’m thinking about taking one right now just to see what the sex of my non existent baby is. So weird…I wonder how accurate it is.
4.) I really want to go to this place. That’s a SWIMMING POOL!!

more than 1,000 yards long, covers 20 acres, had a 115ft deep end and holds 66 million gallons of water.
The Guinness Book of Records named this pool by the sea in Chile as the biggest in the world. It’s over a thousand yards long, covers twenty acres, and has a 115 foot deep end. Shall we plan a trip?
5.) One of my favorite pictures this week:

6.) Oh and somebody is coming by to meet Aries today! I took him to a meet and greet and he was a hit. It’s bittersweet. He’s SUCH a good dog, but things are busy here even without a dog and I feel like he gets left out…especially on the weekends when he can’t tag along. I also feel like Greyhounds really need to live with other Greyhounds. They are pack oriented…grow up living together and accept each other easily.
When we went to the meet and greet Aries walked right up to the other Greyhounds and rested his head on one of their necks. I SWEAR they were hugging. He just settled right in with them. The lady visiting already owns two Greyhounds and she’s bringing them to see how they get along. I’m hoping it works out because I really want Aries to have some playmates.
