We don’t travel. We’re not a traveling family. We don’t have traveling pants…and quite frankly we’re not really “into” traveling with our children. The last time we attempted a trip it was November and I had the bright idea of driving to Seaside, Oregon at 7 o’clock at night with a sick daughter. It wasn’t entirely my fault. I made the hotel reservation when she was healthy and we didn’t want to lose the money so when we thought she was well enough to make the drive we made it.
And we haven’t “traveled” since.
It was miserable. Just an FYI…Seaside Oregon is windy and cold and desolate in November. I made everyone walk out to the ocean and shouted over the wind at Pat to take a picture. They all endured the picture taking process, but everyone wanted to go home.
So this summer we stayed home.
We didn’t ride It’s A Small World in Disneyland.
We didn’t go whale watching in Hawaii.
We didn’t go camping at any national forests.
And we didn’t visit the ocean.
But…
…we still had a LOT of fun!!
Remember tomorrow is still Writer’s Workshop! Your assignment, should you choose to accept, is:
1) If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
2) Moxie is defined as the ability to face difficulty with spirit and courage; bold energy. Describe a time when you showed moxie.
3) Write a poem about a loved one who has shown you moxie. What have you learned from them?
4) If you were a super hero, what would your super power be and why?
5) A superhero can save you from what ails you….what is your request?
