When I went to SITScation back in October I had the pleasure of meeting Laurie from Tip Junkie who had been invited to speak and oh my goodness she blew me away. In the most non lesbian sense of the phrase. She’s cute as a button, well spoken, super friendly, she promotes and supports mom made products and on top of it all she’s amazingly creative and organized. I love her.
Yesterday I got so caught up in the Bachelor that I forgot it was Talk To Me Tuesday. In honor of the blog conferences Laurie and I have been to and plan on attending we thought we’d share interviews and find out what blog conferences (if any) you plan on attending. (To read my interview go check out Laurie’s page!)
At the end of this post you’ll be able to leave a link to your blog (or facebook page) along with the name of the conference you’re going to.
Q. Tell us about yourself!
Q. What is the one thing you want everyone to know about your blog?
I just hit my 1000 post which means there are around 10,000 tips on Tip Junkie. You can literally search any word, phrase, or idea that you’re looking for. From “mod podge” to blogging tips.
Q. What do you think the most rewarding qualities of blogging are?
Hands down, connecting with like-minded women. Even though I adore my girlfriends in real life, my blogging friends share my passions and interests and are my personal cheerleaders when I need support. {{love
it!}}
Q. What are your 3 favorite posts?
Dude, there’s no way I could only pick three on Tip Junkie. Although I do have a favorites category that list my all time best posts. On my personal blog, my top three posts are:
*
Pink Bathroom Make Over

*
Pantry Make Over
*
Blogging 101 – What not to do
Q. Who is your current blog crush? Be honest, I know you have one. {{wink}}
Dude. I have so many. Seriously I keep adding them month after month. I am constantly amazed at the incredible women I find in blogland. I consider in an honor to get to take a quick peek into their lives and learn and be inspired from them. My current blog crush is Jyl from Mom It Forward.
She’s fabulous!!
Q. Have you ever experienced Blenvy (blog envy)? How did you deal with it?
have daughters. I constantly battle with my deep desire to have a girl. Even though I’ve come to terms that it isn’t going to happen, I still ache when I see dance recitals, mommy daughter outings, and darling tutorials for girls.How do I deal with my blenvy? I allow myself to feel the pain for a couple minutes – let it sink in. Then I turn that emotion into gratitude for my fellow blogger who is able to experience all the joys of raising a daughter. I’m actually glad that she doesn’t have to live with the loss that I struggle with.
Q. How many kiddos do you tend and how do you juggle all the
responsibilities?
I have three boys. My oldest is 11 and has high functioning autism. My middle son is 9 and has ADHD. My last son is 3. {{enough said}} They are my hardest challenge and my greatest accomplishment. I struggle with parenting all the time. I’m an avid reader of self-help books and parenting books. I feel like I can’t teach what I don’t know – so I’m trying to learn everything I can to give my boys the tools they’ll need to be successful husbands and fathers. It’s a daily struggle. How do I do all that needs to be done? I outsource, I barter, I carpool, I schedule, I beg, and I “make it work”. I have a strong support system of friends who I can rely on and what doesn’t get done – doesn’t get done. Above all, I make sure that I’m perusing my passions as that is my source of motivation to get up in the morning. {{wink}}

I think that this is a great idea. What a great way to see and ‘meet’ all the other conference goers.

Awesome exchange, M-K. Absolutely love what you cooked up with Laurie.
I must admit that I was a bit confused after reading your interview on her site, though. There is a question about your favorite blogger that you seemed to dodge. Why was that? Surely you are not afraid to tell the world of your love for me and my blog?
I guess I just have to settle for knowing that I alone have that special place in your heart.
PS: Your ass had better plan to be in San Francisco. I want to see your amazing speech *live*.

I don’t have to tell you that I love Laurie. She’s even better in person. And you. :)

I just booked my spot for Baltimore and I’m so excited!

I’m so excited to see you again in March! I am sad that Laurie and I will be missing each other at all of the other conferences this year.

Thanks for adding the linky. I am looking forward to checking out the other Baltimore Bloggy Bootcamp attendees blogs before March so I am at least familiar with them.

Mama Kat, I just watched your motrin ad spoof vlog and it is hilarious!

Thanks Cynthia {{inside joke}} for the fabulous interview. You completely rock! {{bowing down – I’m not worthy}}
SITScation was seriously the highlight of last year for me! I just loved meeting all of you. With out having that experience, I know I wouldn’t be going to any conferences this year. Tiffany did such a great job putting together SITScation and I just know that all of the Bloggy Boot Camps will be just as fabulous. There’s something very warm and accepting in a group of under 100 women. It was easier to mingle and really get to know the women who attended. I didn’t feel like I number in the crowd – I felt like a guest who could walk up to a stranger and say, “Hey what’s your blog called?” It was amazing!

I’m new to blogging and happened to stumble along yours. I love that Pink Bathroom Makeover and the Blogging 101 post! I hope that one day I can attend a blogging conference, b/c I could use the advice!!! Have fun!

Still trying to convince the husband to let me go (and fully fund it of course! ;o) We’ll see. If not, then you ladies have a great time!
