Pat’s finally coming home tomorrow.
I didn’t tell you all that he was out of town last week for fear that one of you MIGHT show up at my door and try to kidnap Maile’s mice (you know who you are). Pat is a really strong protector so I’m not as nervous about a mouse napping when he’s home. However, other than my “duck and cover” method I have no real defense on my own.
While he’s been away I’ve been busy remodeling every room in the house and spending all of the money in our savings account.
That’ll teach him to leave me alone with three crazy kids while he lives the good life in HAWAII!!! Tickets were only 300 bucks. Which is a really great price for one person…add in me, three little ones and 1200 more dollars…eh…not so worth it. I’d much rather just spend that money on glow sticks and pizza and new attitudes for the kids. You know…because we have 1200 dollars sitting in our account ready to be spent.
And as it turns out when I decide to “remodel rooms” I actually end up “throwing out my back” and “hammering my fingers”. Which will teach me to spend all our trillion dollars on glow sticks.
I’ll be okay though…really….ahem…send drugs.
These are the pictures Pat sent me all week as gentle reminders that everything he was doing in Hawaii was far more fun than anything we were doing here.
Exhibit A.)
Exhibit B.)
Hawaii Grandma
(no idea why he felt the need to get so close to that poor ladies face for this picture, but whatever.)
Exhibit C.)
Hawaii Grandma’s House (Pat lived here for a bit growing up):
Exhibit D.)
This is where the magic happens…Pat’s family doing what they do best…cooking pigs and stuff:
Exhibit E.)
To combat his pictures with pictures of ALL the great things he was missing here…I sent him these in retalliation:
Exhibit A.)
Exhibit B.)
They can’t cook, but they’re cute!
Exhibit C.)
Who wants to go to Hawaii and miss out on all this up in here?? I had to send a sexy picture of myself:
Needless to say he was really regretting his decision to leave us. I’m sure.

I say next month you go to Hawaii, and he stays home with the kids. Just kidding of course. Sorry about your fingers, will try to send you a care package of glowsticks and drugs :).

1st – Your kids are ADORABLE and you’re hilarious! :)
2nd – the chair stunt looks like something my almost 6 yr old would try and LOVE.
3rd- supa cool that you guys found tix to Hawaii for $300. Gotta clue my peeps in on that tip.
4th- I’m so sorry you missed out on a trip to Hawaii. Good for you for keeping busy (er spending money), that’ll teach the hubby. Sorry your fingers and back had to suffer through it.
The good thing is that you survived and for that, you definitely deserve a trip to Hawaii by yourself next time. :)
Kerry Ellington says
Errr, I meant to say table instead of chair. Sorry, lack of sleep kicking in…. He he. :)
Terie says
This is too funny, I love the table stand and your sexy pictures is just lovely :D

Are there people not DYING to see you in that hot hoodie? I hope you’re bringing that bad boy to Baltimore. I have a question for Pat today too? Has he ever seen Dawg, The Bounty Hunter in person? Every time I hear the word Hawaii my mind wonders to the crew of strangely clad crime fighters who are single handedly making the mean streets of Hawaii a safer place.
Justine says
ROFLMAO!!!!! I cannot believe you let your man go visit his family in HI and did not go with him! Are you INSANE??????
And just what was your daughter doing straddling the legs of that upside-down table? She could have put her eye out! Cracked her head open! Broken her arm! LOL
I want some roasted pig now dammit.
Justine :o )
COZY KITCHEN BY THE SEA says
What a hilarious post !
I lived on Oahu for 3 years, and learned to cook Kalua Pork… I have it on my blog if you want the recipe and have never made it before.
Your hubby would love it, and never need to go back to Hawaii :)
The pictures brought back memories of our days there…
Gina says
Looking at his photos, I literally felt jealous for you.
But then I saw yours, and you are right. NO need for jealousy. Especially that sexy pic of you. DAYUM, girl!
Stephanie says
I want to go somewhere! Anywhere really, well at least 1000 miles from home, then it would feel like traveling. What did you do to the rooms to call it remodeling?
June Freaking Cleaver says
I’m sure your husband will get more than his money’s worth in aggravation upon his return – you strike me as the vindictive type who would leave the “best” chores for him – am I wrong?
I know he cried every time he looked at the pic of you in the hoodie.
kiki says
great post. beautiful pictures of hawaii and of you and the kids. kainoa is a very talented little boy. i would love to visit hawaii. we are saving up for a trip to Fl to visit Disney. sometimes i think of biting the bullet and just putting a trip to hawaii on a credit card. hubs wants to take the boy surfing there and i want to do a helicopter tour ride. my sis and my bestie both went there for their honeymoons. i went to Disney. take care and i hope Pat arrives home safely.
Lolli says
Haha! I love that picture of you, M-K. I bet Pat was sorry to be so far away from you when that one came through. Hawaii, Schmawaii.
Jonel says
I agree – next month, you should go away and leave him home with three kids!
Jayde says
That had to have been a hard decision. I can really understand why you chose to stay though, or maybe it wasn’t so much of a choice, but rather a set of circumstances. Maybe you can go next time and leave him home with the kids!!
mama-face says
You are the only person I ‘know’ who can pull off the hooded sweatshirt look. And I love the use of the table. lol
Emmy says
Okay when I saw that picture of you it took me a minute to realize it was even you. Thought it was some crazy teenager who broke into your house while your husband was gone :)
Glad he is back
Erin says
LMAO!! I would have had so much more fun at home with 3 crazy kids than in Hawaii anyway…right? I mean that is what I would have spent the week convincing myself!
Pseudo says
Your husband is from Lanai? I’ve lived on Oahu 28 years and have never been to Lanai… my hubs is from Honolulu.
Nicole says
so did he tell u he liked your sexy pic?! LMAO! You are too funny!
Brutally Honest says
Um, yeah, he totally owes you a vacay!
the G says
He got to go to Hawaii for a week sans kids??? Wow, you are a guy’s DREAM! there will be many hunky pool boys in heaven who fetch you fruity beverages and provide great manny/peddies for all eternity!
Jen @ buried with children says
Table surfing is waaaaay better than the real thing!
And man, that last picture of you is HOT!
Alicia says
ME!! I NEED HAWAII! I’m super jealous! lol. No kidding! I just posted about it yesterday! Too funny. Hey, I’m going in April if you want to come! I want to eat pig and stuff…
3 Men & a Lady says
Can my husband go visit Pat’s family, too? I could use some peace and quiet around here, lol.
Foursons says
I must say- that is quite the talent your son has! Impressive!
Liz says
24 hours after he gets home, announce that you are taking the $1200 and going to Vegas….without the kids! There are no ocean breezes there, but plenty of pool boys!
Great post!
Jenny says
You are so funny…So when do you get to go to Hawaii by yourself ?
Heather says
You are too funny. I’d love to be in Hawaii right now but I have other things to spend my millions on too….like chicken nuggets and swiss cake rolls. Hope Pat had a great time, and you enjoyed your break from him. :)
Ghada says
oh dear, your kids are too cute! The balancing act on the table looks uber dangerous…why do little boys insist on being stunt men *sigh* Have a great week :)
Michelle says
I think I hate Pat a little bit now. *sigh* I forget what warm weather feels like. But ummm yeah, $300pp for a Hawaii flight is awfully nice. Such a shame *I* wasn’t able to take advantage of it! ;)
Jannica says
I wanna go to Hawaii!!! Ugh, tickets from the East Coast would NEVER be that cheap! I am also very impressed at your son’s balancing skills, he’s got talent
Ashley says
Love the last picture. :) And yes he owes you a vacation!
Valerie says
This post cracked me up!! Love your blog chica!
Nicole says
Laughing over here in Hawaii….I live on Oahu….I would have to agree that the table surfing is far better than actual surfing. :0)
Old School/New School Mom says
The picture of you in the green hoodie is amazingly wonderful. Also, the table gymnastics is highly impressive.
