The tag line for The Bachelor this year is “on the wings of love”….because Jake’s a commercial pilot and they are running. away. with it. Every time a plane flies overhead in the show everything moves in slow motion as Jake stares off into the distance with aviator sunglasses on. He’s shown in either a.) his pilot uniform or b.) nothing at all times.
Have I mentioned I’m not a big “Jake” fan? I have NO idea why ABC picked him or why they did not consult me on the matter, but let’s be honest, ABC doesn’t always pick the biggest winners. After all this is the same network that gave us Alex Michel.
I rest my case.
So Jake it is. I will endure.
And naturally women from all over the country flocked to Jake’s side with hopes of becoming his wife……and not at all to jump start careers in modeling/acting/the adult film industry.
After meeting 25 women Jake narrowed it down to these lucky girls…I give you…the finalists:
Ali I like. She’s one of my favorites so far…mainly because she’s pretty and she didn’t do anything repulsive to speak of:
Ashleigh I barely remember, she’s a filler:
Kelly’s a teacher and two credits away from being a professor. Seems normal enough, but when she wasn’t getting enough attention she dressed up in a skimpy flight attendant outfit and requested one on one time with Jake. She’s that girl that tries too hard:
Christina acknowledges that she’s not a nice person and doesn’t really like girls. She came to the show with a basket full of farewell treats for the girls who were not going to make it to the next round. She’s going to be involved in any drama that occurs:
Corrie I like…I don’t know why…other than I think that she’s pretty:
Ditto for Elizabeth…although she started a game of football with a gaggle of girls in cocktail dresses that made me less than comfortable, but I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt at this point:
Ella is the mom on the show…she also boxes and beats things up:
Gia is another character I like solely because she’s pretty and did nothing offensive…which is really the only thing you can do to make me like you on the first night:

Michelle is the crazy girl and I SOOOO hope he keeps her around for a long time. I love the girls who are “in love” before they even meet the bachelor. She mentioned two different times that she wants to be Jake’s “co-pilot at the end of this”. Gag me. She is so completely over the top…talking about their future and kids and settling down…it’s scary. I love her.
Rozlyn thinks she’s hot stuff…and from what I gather stirs up a bit of trouble on future episodes. I don’t like her, but I like her on the show. Anyone who can stir the pot a bit has got my vote for sure:
Tenley received the “first impression” rose. She’s the girl who has only slept with one other man and than in an attempt to win over the bachelor on the first night, begs him to kiss her and then runs and cries to the other girls about how forward she was. And by “forward” she means “easy”…and it worked. She left a “lasting” impression:
Valishia will be gone next episode.
Wait…how many girls can we lose next episode?
Lastly is Vienna who acts exactly the way she looks…like a valley girl. Buh bye:

I pretty much agree with your assessment of these poorly picked ladies. There were definitely a few that I thought he should have picked from the first round. Why he is keeping Michelle around???? Producers must tell him to keep some around for dramatic enhancement. Love it. Love the drama. I can.not. stand Ella. or Christina, but they are necessary to keep the show going. As long as he picks Corrie or Tenley at the end, I’m okay. Yes. I said it. I like Tenley. Even though her little emotional outburst seemed slightly over the top, it was sweet. She’s pure. She got burned. I think she’s earned the right to be a little teary because of her over-”easiness”. She’s cute. In the end, I think it’s going to be down to her and Corrie.
Jake was not my favorite either. However, I think, despite his cheesiness, he is genuinely a good guy. And, yes, to do tend to finish last because most everyone likes some kind of challenge. He just puts himself totally out there. Risky, but admirable.
Yeah Tenley wasn’t that bad, but I think Ali and Elizabeth are going to be the front runners.
I have never watched the show before but did for fun last night and I am in Love with it! I loved Ali and Tenley. I am sure they will be the two to last to the end. I think Jake is dreamy- but I haven’t’ seen any of the episodes from last season and know that TV can make anyone dreamy.
I am excited to keep watching, between the really sweet girls and the crazy ones, it should be interesting for sure.
Oh and the dresses! I really liked seeing the dresses!!!
The show is chalk full of girl drama…which I love to watch from the comfort of my couch, but NOT be in the middle of. :) Girls can be so ridiculous.

What a great post on the show! Love that you put all their pictures here with the little notes on them. You had to have taken notes during the show right? Your memory isn’t really this good, please tell me it isn’t! I can’t even remember their names.
I did like Elizabeth though from the start and then when she brought out the football, that sealed it for me! I thought it was a fun thing. I enjoyed watching that much better than when they all go in the hot tub together and act so stupid.
My husband loves watching this show. His favorites so far are: Elizabeth, (he liked Kimberly 2nd but she’s already gone), Ashley and Tenley. He thought that whole part with Jillian and Ed was stupid and we zipped through them.
I had a little help from the Bachelor website with the names and pictures! By the end of the show I remembered MAYBE three girls by name. Hahaha…there are way too many to keep track of at this point.

Maybe because making fun of it is so much fun? I don’t “believe in the process” because clearly it hasn’t worked in the past, but I LOVE watching it unfold….and I’m always hopeful that THIS time it will work. :)
I tried watching it, really I did, but the girls seem extra…catty this season. I am glad you are doing updates because until all the drama ends, I don’t even think I can watch it with my hands over my eyes/yelling at the screen. Ali FTW!

WHY did they feel the need to recycle another bachelor? I mean give me some new blood here! Jake has a nice bod, but that’s about it. He’s too straight-laced, and very uninteresting if you ask me!

Why do I think the entire premise is stupid? Let’s say I’m lookin’ for my bachelor…yeah, just want I want – a guy that goes through 24 other girls IN FRONT OF ME. Oh, and professing love for someone I don’t even know…isn’t that every girls dream?

I watched the premier, but I don’t know if I can do it…it was all I could do to not gouge my eyeballs out when listening to them all giggle.

And I love it.

I can’t believe you aren’t a fan of Jake!!?? I LOVE HIM!!! I was so anxious to watch and totally passed out at 8pm on Monday night! I was so upset, I didn’t even DVR it! I was at a wrestling meet last night and I think I have one every Tuesday night for the next two months, so I will have to keep updated through you. If I go by your comments and the pictures I would pick Gia and Elizabeth for my final two, but you will have to give me more details in the weeks to follow.

Ali and Elizabeth are the prettiest. And Vienna….. WOOF. I don’t know anything about the Bachelor, but I do think he’s hot. As long as he doesn’t wear tight aqua blue lion tee shirts I think he’s doing ok.
Jake is easy on the eyes…in pictures…I’m thinking a tight green lion shirt might help his cause actually. Your response to Vienna’s picture made me laugh! WOOF. Hahahaha…so mean.

I thought the Bacheor stepped it up a notch picking Jake. My husband I think got a little man crush as well. Love your take on all the ladies. We are always the best judge of character sometimes.
I know sometimes I’m a little harsh, but the girls aren’t real to me and I don’t know them so I’m allowed. :) I think they should have picked the Matthew Perry look alike to be the bachelor. You know the one who came to ask for Jillian back before she gave her final rose away? That’s the one I liked.
Yay! I’m so glad that Bachelor is back! I love me a good train wreck. I liked Jake a lot last season until he kind of went nice guy crazy and stalked Jillian. I liked the wearing nothing at all part. :) I’m so surprised that he kept love-sick Michelle, which says something about him. They never keep the one who is in love on day one. I like Ali too. I so thought she was gonna get the FI rose.
I think that’s what it is…the whole “oh I’m so nice” and “oh I’m so perfect”…and “oh I’m going to do the right thing and save Jillian from herself”…he just bugs me.
I think they’re blind to the psychos for the first few episodes…they don’t get the luxury of seeing the footage that we get to see. :) And I’m glad, because the show would be super boring without the Michelles.

Totally agree on the choosing of Golly Gee Jake!! I felt like he was straight from the Pleasantville cast. HOwever, I will not let down my inner addiction to the show and will always continue to watch. I was totally crossing my fingers for Kyptin (Kiptin…however you spell it. yummy yummy Kiptin).
My top so far – Ali, she is so darn cute. Tenley – cute but could do without the beach ballet dance. And Elizabeth – As you can tell on my blog, I am total sports nut. So the football would have won me over. However, I must say that she would never be my nanny. I do think of myself as pretty confident, but damn…I would feel a little less if she was the one taking care of my kids!! (maybe i’m just hormonal today!!)
I am super excited for the drama to unfold this season!! And for Michelle’s MELTDOWN!!! I know these are people’s lives, but it sure is damn good entertainment.

I love the drama already! Michelle def. carries the freak flag, but I too am glad they kept her just so we can see a few more weeks of drama. That girl can not even talk and she’s crazy. I LOVE Ali, she is my pick to win it all. She just seems normal and a girl next door type. Elizabeth I think looks like Meghan Fox. And my prediction is that Gia is the one that will be stirring up the pot and causing lots of drama in future episodes. I have a feeling she is the one with a husband back home or something. CRAZY!!! But I so love it and I am with you, great to watch from the couch, NOT be in the middle of it. :)
Rumor has it one of the girls gets it on with one of the CREW MEMBERS! That’s the “line” that was crossed…I can’t wait to see who’s double dipping in that house!!
I am in total agreement with your observations. I think (as my co-worker put it) that Jake is a “big weenie.” I wanted Reid, but they picked Jake. Jake the painfully wholesome dude. The good looking, successful airline pilot who is *yawn* looking to settle down ASAP. Ah well. As far as the ladies go – Michelle and Vienna must stick around to initiate and maintain drama. Tinnley (with her cartoon voice) seems well suited to Jake. They seem like they are both from some Disney movie.

Oh Ali is definitely the cutest, judging by those pictures (I haven’t caught an episode yet). Jake is DREAMY!!!! I don’t know how shallow and retarded he may be, but he is certainly chocolate cake for the eyes. Yum!
I so agree. I really don’t like Jake- He’s like milk toast- bland and while a nice guy, he’s a nice in a cheesy awe shucks, golly kind of way that makes me gag a little but. The girls- Really- could they not find one girl who was nice without being “forward”/slutty or in need of a psych ward-ie-Michelle- they chose her because she’ll be really entertaining to watch!!! I hate to say it but I can’t wait to watch!
I can’t even believe I am admitting to it in the internet universe but I do faithfully watch the Bachelor and OHHHMYYGODDD I HATE Jake. He is the biggest geek ever and when he smiles and then does the slight head look down to the floor thing, I want to jump though the TV and kick his ass! i think ABC did a horrible job of casting these girls, poor Jake deserves better. Many of them look entirely too fake AND too young! It seems as if they’re looking more for airtime than an actual life partner. (and why are so many of them blonde?)

I think Gia is pretty although I have a feeling she is not Nearly as innocent as she pretends to be AND I have the weirdest feeling that she inherited an alcohol problem from her weird mother. I do like Vienna even though she appears to be a BIG SLUT.And I can’t imagine why any sane man would want to enter into competiton with that strange daddy of hers.I think she would make a really fun date but mother of his children?thats scary! I would be afraid she would accidently forget and leave them in a McDonalds bathroom or worse.Tenley is very nice but its too soon after her divorce.Am I the only one that noticed that she mentions that relationship in almost every sentence? Jake dosen’t seem to notice because its done in a way of comparsion and He is always the big hero that is showing her how a really good man should treat her!
