I’m a star in the car dontch’a know? Why harbor resentment over the fact that I have to listen to my kids Barbie dvds over and over and over again? Instead I choose to embrace the musical genius that IS Barbie:

Nothing brings the sentimentality out of me like Barbie and the Diamond Castle.
Nothing.

Very, very nice! I force my kids to listen to my music like show tunes and sing that to them.
But I do have one question, aren’t you cold? Or does your hotness keep you warm even in the winter to wear a tank top. ;)

Those are from the summer time. :)
I think I’ll start a new vlog “series” of me jammin’ to songs my kids SHOULD love.
[Reply]
You know…watching it again I just realized I think I’m missing a few other takes…like the one where I yell back to the kids to sing along with me…we made need a part 2 to this thing.

It never occurred to me to download that from itunes. Is it one itunes? I am going to check right now because I LOVE IT, too!

Did you find it? I’ve never checked itunes, but I’m about to download it if it’s there!

My hubby and I have the Backyardigans, Yo Gabba Gabba, Dora The Explorer, and Diego songs forever burned into our cerebral cortexes.
Its one of those things where if you can’t beat em….might as well join em!
[Reply]
You’re so soulful…:)
And by the way…LOVE the Hunger Games! Do you realize that we have to wait until this summer for the third installment?

Oh my gosh the Hunger Games was the BEST!! I know…part of me is dying to read book 3, but the other part doesn’t want it to ever end.

This is why you have children when you are young and still have patience. I thought I would kill myself if I had to sit through the Thomas the Train movie with my grandson. It has to be the MOST boring movie for children EVEN.
[Reply]
Beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes.
Well, from laughing. But still.
I find myself in similar situations quite often. It’s really sad when your kid tells you to stop singing, though. :(

More sad is when they all start howling….that memory still makes me cry. ;)
[Reply]
Great….now it’s all going to be stuck in my head and I don’t even have a single Barbie in the house. It’s all about LEGOs and Bob The Builder. Want me to sing it for you?
[Reply]
So very thankful that I’m not the only one singing along to diamond castle…or you know, Barbie and the Muskateers…
Thanks for sharing!! PS my girls ran over to the computer to see who was singing their song!!
[Reply]
Is it just me, or are there actually no kids in the car? You just singing to yourself! Lol
Don’t worry, my husband and I have a rather ‘alternative’ taste in music and now days find ourselves humming tunes about ducks/buses/farms and so on… it’s rather sad.

Alecia said the same thing. There are kids in the car you guys! You just can’t see them. I SWEAR IT!
[Reply]
I don’t have kids of my own, but I find this hilarious. This is totally something I will do one day. Glad I know I won’t be the only one proudly belting out the words to my kids’ favorite tunes someday!
[Reply]
Asher just made me watch that 16 times. Thank you very much :)
[Reply]
I’m TOTALLY impressed that you know the words! LOL I didn’t even know Barbie could sing but I guess she can do everything :) Girl Power!!
[Reply]
Do ya think American Idol would have a Barbie week? I’d totally spend money to vote for you!
[Reply]
Laughing.So.Hard.
My Isabella has ALL those stinkin Barbie DVDs and sings with them all the time!!! So like you, I know ‘em too. So brave to admit it and tape yourself singing, lol!!!!
[Reply]
And you haven’t driven over those DVDs yet?
Cracks me up!!
[Reply]
Awww I loved this! You sing well too from what I could hear! :)
[Reply]
You should hear me sing Laurie Berkner songs. I am grrrreat!

I don’t even know who Laurie Berkner is. Is that wrong?
[Reply]
I have had a rough day today…THank you for that!! LOL xoxo

Ummmm…I saw no children in your car. You were alone. And singing Barbie. In a minivan. No excuse. No excuse at all.

There ARE kids in the car…I swear to it. The only seat you can see is the “extra” seat…for daycare friends and what not. Behind it you can glimpse the top of Maile’s head.
YES YOU CAN!!!!

i pissed myself laughing
seriously pissed myself
‘is diamond castle the one that’s hidden and the chic is in the mirror?
cuz i loves me that first song they sing together..the two barbie chics in the woods..
[Reply]
Damn! I didn’t even know Barbie had a Diamond Castle. Great singing. My question is how do you video yourself while you are driving? Please clue me in! I got a Flip camera for Christmas and am in LOVE!
[Reply]
I’m so glad I have a boy. LOL I drove around with my nieces once and had to hear the Barbie girl song. OMG headache. LOL
[Reply]
I find myself harmonizing to Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! All. the. time. Every song is exactly the same in every show, just with different words. Seriously stupid.
Oh, and you are so cute! Seriously cute. Like, so cute I might not like you. But I DO like you, because you’re funny. And I can relate, girl.
[Reply]
ahahahaha….embrace girl, embrace it. I do the same thing. Princess in the Pauper and Diamond Castle are our, I mean, her favorites. :D
[Reply]
So, I guess this is what I missed by having all boys? (though one of them was obsessed with The Lion King and knew ALL the lines and ALL the words to the songs).
I will have to get a copy of Barbie’s CD in case I ever have granddaughters. Maybe.
[Reply]
That totally rocked. I should do that with the movie Happy Feet. I know it by heart and can totally turn it out! :)
[Reply]
LOL you are too funny! I’m kind of sad that my kids have outgrown the Barbie movies. I really loved the first 3 or so that came out! I gave them away but I miss them!
[Reply]
I like your style…barbie style and all.
[Reply]
You’re a sick woman; but a funny one.
Someday the kids will be older and you will be well again.
[Reply]
Love.it. That just made my weekend!
Have you checked out this one – The Barbie Diaries ? http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2998573&CAWELAID=142497433 I think I was more into it than my 4 year old. lol
[Reply]
omg. I can so, so relate to this. You have no idea. I actually had to stop myself from singing along while watching this video.
[Reply]
Okay, I’m glad I read through some of the comments before I gave you a hard time for listening to Barbie with no kids in the car. Here you were blaming your kids and THEY WEREN’T EVEN THERE!! lol Yes, I did see the comment where you ensured us that they were, in fact, there. However, the car seat was empty in BOTH parts! lol
Admit it. You just LOVE barbie – with or without the kids! lol
[Reply]
Freaking hilarious! I love it! I will have to remember that one when Mr T gets older…however…what do little boys listen to??
[Reply]
Are the kids even in the car with you? I can’t see them so I’m going with no. It makes it way more funny to think you’re jammin’ to Barbie when you’re alone.
[Reply]
Here’s the thing…how can you NOT sing along to Barbie? We love us some Diamond Castle. And now I feel like I can sing it freely and without shame because I know somewhere in the world you are harmonizing with me.
“…we dream the same dream…”
[Reply]
Love it! This is so funny! And those songs are pretty catchy. :P
[Reply]
Awwwww, I love it.
And I can totally picture me singing the harmony to your melody.
wink wink.
[Reply]
*sigh*
I usually have special agent ojo stuck in my head ALL day.
That and mickey mouse club.
Yowza. I gotta do something about that.
Cute vlog. :)
We don’t do Barbie movies in our house for this reason….And I have 3 girls…lol.
