The Bachelor: Vienna’s A Vig Vaby

February 2, 2010 · 56 comments

(I wrote up a guest post over at Ravings Of A Mad Housewife…head on over if you want to read about the student who wrote me a love letter when I was teaching high school English.)

Thanks. Thanks a lot Cori. Because you decided to be that girl who can’t open up we are stuck with another episode of Vienna. Awesome. I don’t know why you couldn’t whore yourself out like the other girls do. But you have values and I suppose sticking to them was more important than becoming another notch on Jake’s bed post.

That all being said I officially can’t handle anymore Vienna. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. I tried to get past the “she’s not as pretty as the other girls” frame of thinking, but last night…to say she irritated me would be an understatement. She’s needier than any poodle I’ve ever met. She has Daddy’s Little Princess Syndrome. She’s spoiled and she’s that girl who will be your friend up until she feels threatened by you and then promptly drops you like a bad habit. Mmmmmm….I like those friends. Have one myself actually. Maybe that’s why she struck a chord with me.

On her date with Jake and Gia (one of the only girls in the house who has been nice to her up to this point) Vienna went out of her way to make sure Gia felt like a third wheel and even said her goal for the date was to just carry on as if Gia were not even there. And when that tactic didn’t work she snuck down to Jake’s bed later that evening to share some “special” one on one time. It was trashy. And desperate. And totally backfired because Jake was awkward and sent her away.

The only people I like for Jake at this point are Tenley and Gia. They are sweet, unassuming, pretty yet humble, and endearing. For the next date I propose we give Vienna and Ali boxing gloves and allow them to battle it out Celebrity Death Match style. I don’t care for either of them.

Next week are the home town dates where Jake gets to meet all the girls families. More drama ensues…it looks like another girl will be leaving in an untimely manner…like before the actual ceremony for whatever reason.

If you wrote up about the Bachelor than add your name to Mr. Linky so we can read all about it.

I cheated and DVR’ed so I could fast forward through the Vienna sections. I just can’t handle her, or Ali.

I have been forced to watch with my wife and I just wanted to chime in to say all you girls are hilarious the way you band together to hate people on these shows. My wife hates Vienna too. Is there some sort of secret societ where you all decide who sucks. Otherwise you all think alike and that is a little scary.

I am glad my shallowness is valid. Meaning that I think Vienna is a horse face and Jake shouldn’t choose her, so I am glad she’s also a whiny, needy tramp. A whiny, needy tramp that took a topless picture with a winter scarf. WHY would you be topless if it’s so chilly that you needed a scarf??? Why?

Reply

Mama Kat February 2, 2010 at 2:05 pm

Yes I did see the topless winter scarf photos…and the reason you would pose for a picture in such a manner is to draw attention away from your face without fully exposing your nipples. She has to leave SOMETHING to the imagination, right!?!

I wonder what Jake will think of those after he decides to marry her.

I totally agree…Gia and Jake seem to have the best chemistry but for a long term match I think Tenley is his gal…Ali has a stick up her butt and Vienna acts like a spoiled brat.

I STILL like Tenley best.

And did Ali say to Jake, “You’re my big flower!” She did. And I almost threw up.

Mama Kat February 2, 2010 at 2:11 pm

Yes…and Vienna was all “I wanna husband who I can wake up every morning and grab his face and just be like I LOVE YOU! to”

…because that’s how I wake up every morning.

See what happens fellas when you spoil your little girls so much that they think of themselves as princesses? They cause so much drama that producers of reality shows think of them as goldmines and keep them around long after their shelf life. Ah ha ha

I just happened upon your blog today, and I was making up a post about last night and the bachelor and then I saw your post! I totally agree with EVERYTHING you said! I made my boyfriend watch it with me and he was actually getting very embarrassed at the way Cori wouldn’t kiss Jake in the boat! He kept looking away and asking me to tell him when it was over because he was too embarrassed for her! PS. great blog! I’m a new blogger and just read all of your tips!

Oh my gosh that part was SO uncomfortable!! I love how she was all “I’ll go 10% of the way if he goes 90%” and Jake was all “I’ll go 80% if she goes 20%”…seriously what was that all about!?!!

Welcome to blogland! And be careful…it’s super addicting. :)

Still don’t watch the show but still love reading about it here. I think I’l go with my original pick – Gia.

Poor Corrie. She hardly got any screen time on this show before getting the boot and nobody spells her name correctly. I can’t stand Vienna either, and I’m sad the spoilers I read are turning out to be true. Boo. I really like your graphics in this post btw! And your blog is super cute too :-)

I’m going to DIE if the predictions are true. Say it ain’t so!!

And I have no idea how to spell that girl’s name!

Ya know what? I don’t mean to be all negative on morals but I mean c’mon. In this day and age to save yourself for marriage I mean seriously. You just can’t do that. It is not 1950 anymore. Any guy about to marry a woman, has to know if they are fully compatible with that woman and vice versa. You need to know these things before you commit to spending the rest of your life with someone or else the marriage with start to show holes a few years in.

Plus the whole won’t live together thing, sheer stupidity. The divorce rate is about 50 percent these days, so it is just bad business to not live together first. I am not saying live together, give him the milk for free and then fast forward five years and you are still not married. No you still need boundaries if you live together. In your mind you should have a date that if we are not engaged by this time even after living together than it is time to move on.

I guess I had some strong feelings about this. But I just hate when girls think a guy is going to marry you when you say you are saving yourself for marriage. If he is too, than you are in luck and you will make a great match but with all the forces working against a married couple from the start you have to make sure you are both fully committed to what you are taking on.

UGH I am glad Cori got kicked off. And to the haters of what I am saying, I am not saying you can’t have morals, but don’t go on the Bachelor if you really believe in saving yourself for marriage.

Yes, I will shut up now.

Very sorry as I said in my comment already, the last thing I would ever want to do is offend someone. If saving yourself for marriage worked for you, that is wonderful and I wish you the best of luck.

I’m just a huge fan of one night stands. I think it’s the best way to see if you have good chemistry with people you’re never going to see again.

I’ll give Cori the benefit of the doubt seeing as she is only 23….how much you wanna bet she changes her mind when she’s had a long term boyfriend?

Sadie at heyMamas February 2, 2010 at 4:38 pm

I can’t tell if you are being sarcastic or not but I was totally laughing when I read your comment in my email!

I apologize for the shit storm I opened up here on your innocent little recap of the Bachelor! I didn’t mean to say in any way that saving yourself for marriage isn’t right it’s actually quite beautiful if it works for you, I just get mad when girls say that and then go on a show with 20 other gorgeous girls that aren’t saving themselves and then think the guy is a pig when he kicks them off. He isn’t a pig, he is just being a guy!!

I should probably refrain from commenting during your Bachelor recaps.

Karen & Gerard Zemek February 2, 2010 at 5:22 pm

I think Jake’s connection with Vienna goes back to his first one on one date when they went bungy jumping. He was very impressed with her and just think that connection they had that day is enough to keep him interested in her. Plus, I think he feels a bit sorry for her too that the other girls keep giving her a hard time.

Reply

Trudy February 2, 2010 at 9:20 am

I think Vienna just gets less attractive all the time…I don’t get it. I don’t like Ali anymore…I used to.

Gia is growing on me and I still haven’t really decided about Tenley, although she does seem genuine enough and is the least likely to backstab or trash talk!

Definitely looking forward to the home town dates next week. I always think we learn so much more about the girls (or the women they will become, LOL) by seeing what their families are like!

Great post, as always!

Did you read Chris Harrison’s blog about last night episode? Seriously what was with that crying in the castle? What was there to be scared of…she had a freakin’ tv crew following her around for cryin’ out loud! I’m so over her.
Personally, I think she’s just still there for the ratings. I think Jake already knows who his top two are. And I think that’s why she’s been consistently last to get a rose the past few episodes…all for the sake of ratings.

Love your graphics on Ali vs Vienna. TOO funny. I agree with you re: Vienna. She’s not cute enough to pull off those kinda stunts and get away with it. (sorry I had to say it but its true).

I always look forward to reading your Bachelor updates and it always causes me to laugh out loud which makes my newborn stare at me as if I’m going crazy. (He’s doing it right now btw… lol)

Anywhoo, have a good one hun. :)

Mel February 2, 2010 at 1:04 pm

I hate that Ali became such a bitch…or is one all the time…in the beginning she seemed so sweet and then her hatred for Vienna and the consant need to constantly talk about how much she hates Vienna…did her in for me.

I think Tenley is Mr. Jake. Absolutely positively they make the best couple.

Amanda @ Serenity Now February 2, 2010 at 1:05 pm

Vienna is like a train wreck. I just can’t look away. She drove me nuts to no end last night!! I think Ali did a bunch of back pedaling this week, but she showed that she can be “that girl” who goes crazy mean when she doesn’t get her way.

I hope meeting Vienna’s parents is the final nail in the proverbial coffin. She is soooo immature.

I like Gia, but she doesn’t seem very confident, and her giggle gets on my nerves. I do really like Tenley. I hope she’s the one! :)

I love reading your recaps of the night before. You basically read my mind and put it on your blog! I was 100% Team Corey. Last week I didn’t really understand why the girls hated Vienna, and I still don’t understand why they hate her, but MAN she annoyed me to no end. She was so needy and pathetic. I was over her. It is time for her to go home. Come on Jake, she doesn’t even look good with you. Tenley is my favorite, Gia a close 2nd. Allie was my favorite, but she is just a drama queen too. Over her too.
See you next week!!

Karen & Gerard Zemek February 2, 2010 at 5:15 pm

I agree, forget Vienna. The others there are so much better, yet he keeps her. Your post made me laugh, just had to share it with my friends. They love your writing too. I liked the joke on Ali but wish it would have been true–her and Vienna on the same date would have been quite something I think.

Reply

B February 2, 2010 at 7:34 pm

I was so for Ali in the beginning. I thought she was adorable and was totally for her. But then she turned me off with the whole Vienna bashing and drama. She redeemed herself slightly last night but not much. I think Tenley is my front runner for hime but Gia has moved up in the ranks. Bet you he ends up not picking anyone in the end though! I bet after he comes back from the home town dates he is going to declare them all psychos and run for the hills!

Even though I don’t watch the show I can’t stand Vienna just from the commercials. I felt embarrassed for her just watching make a complete ass out of herself climbing in bed with Jake, did you see him wipe her kiss off when she went to leave. I only know that because it was on they showed it on E ;)
