Your Assignment, Should You Choose To Accept

February 22, 2010 · 18 comments

Directions: You can learn more about Writer’s Workshop here….it’s never to late to jump in!! Here is what you must do:

  • Choose a prompt that inspires you most.
  • Write.
  • Come back this Thursday and paste the URL to your actual post (do this by clicking the title of your post after you hit publish, an extended URL will come up in the address bar. That’s the URL you want to use) into the Mister Linky that will be up…this way anyone can click on your name and head over to your place to see what you wrote.

Feel free to write on more than one prompt if you so desire. I do it all the time, but it’s my game…and I don’t know how to shut-up…so it should be expected. And remember the more comment love you give, the more comment love you get so comment comment away.

The Prompts:

Which one will YOU choose??

1.) 10 Reasons why you’re better off without him….or her….or it.

2.) Brea from Tomika’s Treasure Trove wants your advice: Quick question. I am new to the blogging world, having clocked up less than 2 weeks worth of posts, and I have just had an ‘Anonymous’ commenter slam me for blogging about my daughter, mentioning her by name, posting photos and up-to-date stories about her. I have not mentioned anywhere in my blog where we live, Country OR State, or what school she goes to. I have also seen, on several other blogs, that other parents do the same thing as me. Some even mention where they live. I was wondering, as a fellow blogger who posts about your family, what are your thoughts on blogging and privacy…where do you draw the line?

3.) “What images inspire you immediately? Open a magazine and create a piece of writing (poem, story, essay) about the first image that captures your imagination.”
(inspired by writingfix.com)

4.) “Why do we watch them? Make fun of soap operas with a piece of writing.”
(inspired by writingfix.com)

5.) Craft time! Do share.

I’m here to comment since you said these only got you about 3 comments, lol. I don’t want any mice, though. Give mine to a cat or something.

Hmmn, I wanna do them, all of them! ;)

I also want to make up for missing last week. Oy. Lots of writing ahead! Can I link up a few times?

What? No mouse giveaway? I’m not gonna lie, I’m not at all disappointed. Don’t get me wrong. Mice are great little cutie-pies and those pics you put up were mildly unsqueamishing (that’s my new word, feel free to use it), and I think that they make great pets for kids but something about them makes me shutter and pick my feet up off the ground.
And the only reason why I didn’t comment last weeks was because I thought that maybe, just maybe you were serious.
And now that it looks like the coast is clear this week I can gladly say…
My brain hurts because your prompts this week look hard.

Well, I cheated. The only magazine I have around right now is a Weight Watchers magazine. Even though I’m shamefully inspired by pictures of chocolate-covered-anything, I didn’t think writing an ode was a good idea. Besides, how much chocolate can I find in a mag like that? So I went to a stock photo site, hit the randomizer a few times and used what popped up there. For fun, maybe I’ll do chocolate too :)
