Writer’s Workshop: Whrrl With Me To Baltimore

March 10, 2010 · 56 comments

I had SO many pictures from Baltimore that I decided to make a Whrrl story aka a fancy slideshow so that you can just click through and see them instead of scrolling for years down one post.

I guess that wouldn’t have been that hard to do.

Oh well whatever, it’s a done deal. Enjoy my trip:

Now it’s your turn!

Choose a prompt, post it on your blog, and come back and sign Mr. Linky. Be sure to sign up with the actual post URL and not just your basic blog URL (click on the title of your post for that URL). For good comment karma try to comment on the three blogs above your name!!

The Prompts:

1.) Write a letter to yourself from someone who has passed on. (ie: parent, grandparent, famous person, friend, pet, etc)
2.) Create and share a Whrrl story.
3.) Write a Haiku that describes what you love about an ordinary day.
4.) What lights your fire? Describe five things you are most passionate about.
5.) Share some photos and stories as well as what you love about spring.

Good morning all!

I did the haiku today, seen as you picked my suggestion I felt obliged to do that one! I love haiku anyway.

I’m going to give Whrrl a try soon though, thanks for pointing us towards it, it’s so much fun. I’m getting so jealous of everyone going to Baltimore – enough already! Unless you have lots more tips to give out, I’m totally needing some tips and maybe a mentor!

Have a great Thrusday,
Jade

PS you need to present in Scotland – really soon!

Not all of the letters have to be sad! Sometimes they can help us remember the good times. Great prompt :-)

My goodness, Mama Kat – you were almost in my neck of the woods. I love Baltimore – I have a friend who lives down there. The Harbor is great, Fells Point is great … so many cool places.

Awww! Dang! I totally would have grabbed a drink with you and your wife!! Maybe I’ll go to the Philly one next year!

I’ve only been to Baltimore a few time, staying near the harbor and only doing “kid stuff” like the aquarium. Looks like you had a great “big girl” time! Oh, and I love that apron! :-)

Whrrl is new to me, so I need to go check it out…

Glad you enjoyed yourself in Baltimore. Come to Alabama!! :)

Having visited several of the contributors today and having read all the letters from someone gone from each of their lives, I gotta say that these was very hard even for me to read. This is a good thing. We need to be able to embrace our sorrow and painful moments of our lives, it makes us stronger. Thanks Mama Kat!

I am a talented singer, that’s for sure. It’s hard to hit all of those Fergilicious notes, but I manage.

You’re wonderful.

Thanks for the prompts! I know that this sounds odd, but I chose 1, and 3, and it was fun to channel someone else, think about their voice- and write haikus.

I’m a day late and a dollar short (what’s new? lol) but I followed the first prompt. I hope I was as authentic as possible. >..< Thanks for the great prompts!

Okay, this is all my fault I admit it. But people are thinking I am no longer reading them and so I don’t want them to read ME and COMMENT, and I DO! I AM still reading you and I will start commenting again I promise!

I got into a bad rhythm when I started having so much computer problems, I started not commenting thinking most my comments were probably lame and not wanted, but i see that was a mistake and want to rectify that NOW. I am going to get back to my Comment-Whoring ways…that is Kristina’s phrase remember that, LOL, and so come back to me my friends, I NEVER left you, I just got way too comfy with Google Reader and read you there!! I LOVE my bloggy friends!!

I couldn’t figure out the whrrl thing, so I made a picasa slide show about a camping trip I took last spring. Thank you for inspiring me to look back on old memories. I can’t wait to make some new ones!

I’m confused about the time line now so I think I did it in time?

Hi MamaKat!

My dear funny friend Dusty Earth Mother writes from your prompts so I thought I would too. You seem like a lot of fun.

There are lots of fragmented sentences for you to go gaga over. (grin)
