What ‘chapters of your life’ would there be? Make a list of your life’s chapters. Choose one. Write five possible opening sentences to that chapter. Then write five possible ending sentences to that chapter.
Five Opening/Ending Sentences for Chapter One:
1.) Opening: My older brother screamed and violently threw himself against a wall the moment after my Dad uttered the words that brought my life into existence, “It’s a girl!”
Ending: He was happy again when Mom finally brought home a brother for us all…I screamed and violently threw myself against a wall at the thought of sharing my Mom’s lap with the little bastard.
2.) Opening: I can’t help but think I would have been loved more if my Mom had followed her original plan and named me after one of the Little Women. Preferably Beth. Everyone loved Beth.
Ending: I suppose being me is not SO bad…besides…didn’t Beth DIE in that book??
3.) Opening: He slapped my ass and I screamed my disapproval…if I’d known this was going to become a reoccurring theme in my life I might have crawled right back inside to the safe confines of my mother’s womb and made myself at home.
Ending: As it turns out, slapping back is not the answer.
4.) Opening: It was clear from day one that if I wanted to get anywhere in life I was going to have to work really hard on my personality.
Ending: Personalities are overrated.
5.) Opening: I blame most of my shortcomings in life on the fact that my mother refused to breastfeed me.
Ending: Pat says breastfeeding has nothing to do with my inability to forgive…I stand by my conviction.

Haha, great chapter titles! Your existence is indeed a gift to us all :) Of the 5 opening lines for chapter 1, I really like #3. It really leaves quite an impression on you and really sets the tone for the book :)

What a brilliant idea.
Can’t play this week as finding out about it NOW made my schedule look even wackier than I thought (I’d like to blame my bloggy friends for not thinking to mention this to me before this moment, but that’s a leetle bit of a stretch). Although the comic strip idea is too much of a blast and I would have found much joy in that.
But I’ve jotted you on my “Fun Things To Do On the Internets” list for upcoming weeks.
Fantastic blog!

Yeah Mama Kat! Cute little story.
I would probably hold a grudge against my mom if she hadn’t breastfed me. So I don’t blame you. And I think you have a winning personality. At least your blog does ;)

I want a copy of that book lol I’d be willing to pay in housecleaning and laundry duty…
