If you guys think you’re going to convince me that The Terrible Twos don’t actually end, well think again! All I have is hope at this point…DON’T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME!
Kainoa’s party was awesome. He totally “got it” this year. He knew the presents, cake, and people were there for him and he was so excited about it.
Thank goodness for my Flip video camera…it’s allowing me to survive temporarily without a real camera because I can create still frames from video and save them as pictures.
This one’s my favorite from yesterday:
And I can’t NOT share this.
Jenny @ Practically Perfect... says
Oh my word – that video is hilarious! I love how the other little boy is LUNGING towards the candles the 2nd time around, ha ha!
MIshelle says
So, did the little boy get the cake? It looks like he is about to crash into it and grab a piece with both hands!! Not that I blame him – it looks YUMMY!! Was it good? Can you describe it slowly so I can enjoy it vicariously?
ps – the terrible twos can end before the horrid 3’s kick in.. they can.
Liz at Noexcuses says
Too funny! I’m gladhe finally got to blow his candles out! Thanks for sharing!
Gina says
With his new ‘do, he’s really starting to look like you.
Enjoy the 3’s. As trying as they are, they really are so fun. My L is 3 and he says or does several things every day that make me laugh until I cry.
Sara says
Stopping by from SITS!
Good luck on leaving the terrible twos! We are rapidly approaching b-day 3 and I’m PRAYING for and end, too! The Bear’s birthday is still a month and a half away, and she is already really excited about it! Thanks for sharing!
Mrs. D says
LOL I love the pic w/the little guy rushing the cake! Awesome!
Casey says
Happy birthday to Kainoa! He looks VERY handsome with his new haircut:) I’m impressed with the composure he showed in the video when his cousin stole his thunder. My girls would have gone apeshit.
Angelia Sims says
Oh crap! That’s too funny!! Lil’ dude didn’t even hesitate.
Happy Birthday Kainoa!!
3’s are great! I had a lot of fun last year when my almost stepdaughter was 3, then again it was only during visitation weekends and I had my own escape, I mean place to live.
:-)
She-Fit says
Awh, I love it. Happy Birthday Kainoa
Katherine says
Oh ,the infamous “having someone else sneak up and blow out your candles” trick. It is destined to be the cause of many therapy sessions for my children.
Kimmy says
OMG!! Love that pic of the kid going in for the cake. Unfortunately, my pc won’t let me view the video. I’ll have to switch to my netbook in order to do so. Later :o)
Lindsay says
That was so cute! The second part where the little man is being held back cracked me up!!! Happy Birthday Kainoa!
When did I become my Mom says
Ohhh he is sooo cute! And those long lashes – what a sweetie!
My girl’s going to be 2, and I don’t know where the time went…
k odell says
oh my! who is the little guy? He’s a bundle of energy. Your little man handled that well. I’m very impressed. I would have been mad!
Mama Kat says
That’s my nephew.
I thought for SURE Kainoa would start crying! I was proud of him for holding it together, but they swooped in and re-lit those candles pretty fast. :)
Allison @ Alli 'n Son says
Oh my goodness, that photo of the little one diving for the cake is awesome. That would so be me. I mean my son.
Mama Kat says
I couldn’t stop giggling at that picture last night! It’s hilarious, and it doesn’t even really look like him! I guess that’s what “determination” does to his face. ;)
Cousin Angie says
Truly the funniest I’ve ever seen!! I think I’ve watched this like 15 times and still have tears from laughing at the whole scene. Thank you, this made my morning!
Mama Kat says
At first I thought it was a little weird that somebody who doesn’t know my family watched a happy birthday video as many times as *I* did and then I realized this comment was from my COUSIN!! And that you know those people. :) Hilarious right!?! That little stinker of a cousin!
BreAnne says
That is too funny! Happy Birthday to your little man! I love the candle redo. I have to say the terrible 2’s ended for us, but then my son turned 4 and I wished for the terrible 2’s LOL.
Beth H says
this comment terrifies me. the twos were…annoying compared to the threes…from what i keep hearing/reading…the fours will be worse… *sniffle* i think i will commit myself to some kind of padded room with a door locked from the outside..as long as i can take my laptop..and wireless internet :D
Jennifer says
That was really cute. That little boy really, really wanted to blow out the candles.
Kristen says
Happy Birthday! So cute! I really want to get the flip video camera, only problem is that thing called money :( Just found your blog and wanted to say hello, can’t wait to read & see more!
Mama Kat says
I know what you mean…I’m waiting for money to appear so so I can replace my missing point and shoot. The flip will have to make do until then.
Momlissa says
That is classic. So funny!
Sera @ Laughing Through the Chaos says
He is SUCH a handsome little boy – can’t believe how grown up he is looking! And I definitely see some of your features in him. Adorable video, too. :)
Jessica says
Way for the baby to take away all of the excitement of a birthday! Sheesh. Kids these days…
Lessons in Life and Light says
Hahaha! Oh my gosh, that little kid wants the candles SOOOO BAD! That was too funny. I’ll be giggling about that all day, lol.
The Stephanie says
He looks so grown up in those pics!! (I’m sure that’s not what you wanted to hear. Sorry.) But he’s adorable! Glad he enjoyed his party.
Jannica says
priceless!
Tricia says
Kainoa handled that SO WELL!! My son would’ve cried, crossed his arms, and stomped off into the other room. It would’ve been a big production. And I don’t think I’ve ever seen another little person want to blow out candles SO BADLY that he had to try and steal the thunder TWICE! Too funny! The little guy just didn’t want to let anyone else blow out that damn fire.
