I have ONE last day to write about our vacation and no one will need to hear or read me talk about it again for another two years.
I think.
Our last day in California was spent at the pool in our hotel. When the trip began I had a small cold. On this third day I could barely move.
Okay that’s a minor fabrication. I could move, I just couldn’t talk. I had a horrible cough and no voice…so watching the girls swim was the most perfect way to spend our last hours.
Laina was very “Laina” and gleefully pushed herself beyond her comfort zone. While Maile was very “Maile” and chose to stay close to the safety of the wall. That kid sure makes it easy to relax at the swimming pool.
And so ended our time in the magical Kingdom. That’s enough about that.
Unless of course, you want to see a video I put together of our trip…and you do. Trust me:

I just watched your Ellen videos and you’re MY FREAKIN’ HERO! I’ve never laughed so hard in my life.
Mama Kat says
Well Ellen is a really special little lady…there will definitely be more come where those are concerned. :)

Nothing wrong with a pool day … and after shoveling a bunch more snow yesterday, I’m eagerly awaiting pool days!

I love Disney and your video made me miss it even more. I can’t wait to experience it through the eyes of my son.
Alicia says
You are making me want a vacation ASAP! Glad to hear you had a great time!
Losing Brownies says
It looks like you had so much fun!!! I can’t wait to take The Boy to Disney Land. My husband really wants to wait until he is old enough to remember going. That feels like so far from now, but really I’m sure it will go by in a blink of an eye! Thanks for sharing your video! I love your facial expressions on the Dumbo ride!
Mama Kat says
I’ve been waiting to go on this trip forever! And now I want to go back again next year. So much fun!
Kelly says
That is such an awesome memory for your girls :-)
Kate says
I think all the posts about the trip have been fun!
Paula/adhocmom says
The dumbo ride looks positively horrifying. You are a brave, brave woman.
Steph says
This isn’t helping my winter time blues! I want sun! I want to go to swimming! I want to go to California!
Ok, I’ll stop whining now. ;)
Nicole @ Moments that Define Life says
I can’t wait to take my girls! Jordan is dying to go, so we might do a day with just her since we have family in FL nearby who could potentially take the twins. FUN! And your video doesn’t disappoint as usual. I need to get some mad video editing skillz….any specific program you recommend or tutorials?
Mama Kat says
I use Windows Movie Maker…really just spent a bunch of time goofing off in there and honestly my editing skills are super rookie…but they work for me.
Miri says
I love how you surprised your girls! Looks like a fabulous trip and you know… you were REALLY brave on those rides! ;)
Elaine says
I saw your tweet on your son’s whining. I have four kids mostly grown now and the way I stopped the whining was I told them I cannot hear them in the whining voice. I can only talk to them in a normal voice. I just ignored the whining and gave them complete attention when they spoke normally. My mom taught me this trick. It really worked as they learn eventually that they get what they want with the normal tone of voice. Hope this helps. Feel better too. I have had the same crud and of course it hit while we were out of town last weekend too. Your blog is awesome. Love it. Great header picture. Okay I will shut up.
Mama Kat says
Thank you! He’s really not feeling well today, I’m sure that’s part of the problem too!
camesha says
Glad you enjoyed yourself. I live right down the way from Disneyland and can’t wait to take my son! Soon, grasshopper…very soon! :0)
BalancingMama (Julie) says
I loved that video! We made a little video compilation of our Disney World trip, but we have only a crap video camera and iPhones. Your video is WAY better – and funnier! Glad you had such a fun trip.
Mama Kat says
Thank you!! I just used my flip camera…love how I can just toss it into my purse and use it when needed!
Jen says
Aw, I love their subdued excitement. Just like their momma.
Mama Kat says

I just about lived at Disneyland when I lived in California (up until recently). I had a season pass, and enjoyed it thoroughly.
I wholeheartedly approve of your wonderful, wonderful trip! What lucky girls.
Mama Kat says
I was wondering how often people go when they have season passes. Do you just kind of get over the whole thing or is always amazing? Great to get your perspective!

HA! I loved it – the incessant playing of ‘it’s a small world’ could not have been more perfect/central to the experience of DL. Looks like the girls (and your husband!) had a ball – yay!
Kindred Adventures says
I’m not sick of your posts either. You and your family had fun (except for the cold)! What great memories!
Mama Kat says
Thank you! we really did have fun…I had to post every last minute. :)

funny video…loved it.

We overlapped a couple days at DIsneyland…and I have to ask you…you had POOL weather?? We sure didnt, at least not laying by the pool days lol! We were there the 13-18th crazy!!
Mama Kat says
No way! We were there the 10th to the 12th and the weather was in the 70s both days…which is about 40 degrees warmer then it is here, so it sure felt like pool weather to us!! Haha!
Cori says
I hear ya, being from Washington too…we’re enjoying the snow…yuck!
Sounds like you guys had better weather. We had 3 days that were nice (like 60) and then one day of like 40 and rainy…just like home! We definitely didn’t spend much time lounging by the pool!!
Texan Mama says
OMG I think I’m going to be sick. That video… I can’t do rides that go around, and around, and around. I can’t do videos like that either.
Bluh.
Mama Kat says
Haha…oh buck up bronco!
Kristel Klear says
Awesome photos Kat! I never had the chance to go to Disney, even when I live in the US. But I’m inspired to visit with my future children. -Chiquita

You can talk about it all you want! Thanks for sharing the video, that was great. :) I just conned, I mean *convinced* my 5 yr old to forego a birthday party and go to Disneyland instead. Little does she know, we were going to go anyway. *evil laugh* And little does she know we’re also sort of kind of going for my birthday (a week after hers).

Perfectly rolled into one chorus of “It’s a Small World”…you are GOOOOOOD, Mama Kat! :-) Pat’s look was priceless.
