3.) Something you do that drives your significant other CRAZY.
I’m choosing this prompt because I feel just slightly guilty for giving Pat a Man Cold/Loud Chewing complex recently. Even though they’re spot on assessments.
It makes sense that I fess up and admit to doing a thing or two that drive HIM crazy. I’m going to be honest and tell you that as I sit here by myself and really put myself in his shoes to come up with something, I’m seriously drawing a blank.
Pat very rarely gets mad at me for anything. I think this speaks volumes about how wonderfully easy it is to get along with me and not necessarily anything about how patient my husband is.
Excuse me while I go ask him to TRY to think of one thing that drives him crazy. This already sounds like such a fantastic idea and not like anything at all that could lead to a divorce…
His response:
How about when you give me the wrong times to go some place?
(Guilty. Pat has shown up to dr.’s appointments for the kids that did not exist. More than once. Because I got the days wrong.)
How about when you either open something and you leave the packaging on the floor forever.
(I have no idea what he’s talking about…I never see these messes.)
And that’s it. TWO. Just two things that drive him crazy and they’re really not that bad. I told you I’m awesome! Is there an award or something for that?
I’m actually relieved he didn’t touch on the fact that I never do laundry, I don’t leave the porch light on for him when he comes home late, I spend loads of money on things he doesn’t care about including but not limited to sweaters for our dog, jewelry I won’t wear, iphone apps, and MY BLOG.
He’s not bothered by my complaining about his inability to dress our children when I go out of town or that I insist he puts our youngest to bed every night or that I complain of getting carsick when he drives or that I beg him to feed me sushi and Starbucks nearly every weekend.
Wrong times? Packaging on the floor?
I’ll take it!

Lucky you he only had 2 items to complain about. I did this prompt and I had to cut my husband off at 8 things.
I thought about doing this prompt but I would be writing nonstop for the next three hours about all the things I do that make him crazy!
Wow! That’s impressive that he only came up with two things…I’m pretty sure my husband could have written an entire novel on things that drive him nuts. Little things…like the iPhone apps, the laundry that gets washed & dried but then left in a basket for him to sift through on occasions. Those types of things. :)
Two? That’s it?! Wow, I’m super impressed. I wouldn’t touch this prompt with a ten foot pole! I stuck with the one on hope. :)
So lovely meeting you at #BBCSD on Saturday.
Hmmm . . . I’ve learned never to ask that question OR he has learned never to answer it. Sounds like you have a keeper!
Pat sounds like he’s pretty easy to live with…you may want to give him a li’l somethin’ somethin’ for being such a good guy.
And by somethin’ somethin’, I mean aggravation.
Mine always says I am perfect. He was ending his 30′s when I met him. Clearly well trained. Sometimes I wish he told me the truth. Then again, maybe not. I’ll take perfect.
Aw! What a nice guy. =) I dont even want to ask my husband what I do that drives him crazy. The list would be never ending!
I don’t dare ask hubby this question. I’m sure that he has a long list stashed somewhere.
Wow…you’re one lucky gal! My poem is about “hope”…sort of. And I also wrote it alphabetically! :)
La Zona Rosa
I can think of at least 5 things right off the top of my head that I do to drive Hubby crazy – so I would be scared to ask him as I know the list would go on and on and on…..
It’s a good thing he loves me!
Aw, your hubby sounds sweet! That means he really loves you ;)
I bet my husband could come up with 40 on site.. without any prompting. Then probably think of a few more later.. :)
I love your sense of humor! Thanks for hosting the writers workshop. I’m really enjoying it.
I think my guy could come up with more than 2.
WHEW! When I read that first “complaint” that your hubby had, I thought you meant the kids didn’t exist!! ;)
Great post! Thanks so much for the opportunity to take part in this workshop. I’ve only participated twice, but I already look forward to it!
Yes, you’re doing pretty well. I also had a hard time thinking of something but I guess all marriages have their little pet peeves.
Ha ha – I did this prompt too and as you’ll see in the opening paragraph, I praised you lavishly for how this helped bring us closer as a married couple.
Yeah, right!
My hubs had two also!! It was kind of like getting an employer evaluation except being evaluated by someone who you could potentially have a lot more fun with.
Potentially ….. if you weren’t ticked off about their comments. :-)
OMG, are you me or am I you or are we married to the same man? Sometimes I annoy myself so bad I don’t know why Matt stays married to me but he doesn’t seem to mind a bit that I fuss at him for the loud chewing and sniffles. And he has allergies. Oh god the sniffles drive me mad. I’m really lucky he’s so tolerant. I’m pretty sure any other man would have ditched me a long time ago.
Sounds like you’ve got a sweet deal!! I’m quite jealous about the non complaining about money :)
You’re a lucky woman that he could only think of two! Or maybe he was afraid to mention anymore? Smart man too! LOL
You are one brave girl! I didn’t even consider asking my hubs what I did that made him crazy. I feared the list would be waaaa-aaaaaay too long!!!
Frankly, I’m a bit jealous. Only two things? I would NEVER ask Mr. Jenners this question as I fear that the list would never come to an end. Harumph.
Pat is a good man. You know this, right?
Hi Mama Kat!
Love your post! I think it is so sweet that he only came up with two…and very non controversial ones I must say! He must have known you’d come up with enough on your own (which you did!) AND he loves you so much he’s blind to those other things. :)
I have a quick technical issue. My links are #44 and #45. Why TWO you may ask?! The first one (#44) is the wrong link. It’s actually a link to my edit/compose page for this piece!! I would like to delete it but don’t think I can.
Since you’re the boss, and a very good one I might add, I thought maybe YOU could remove link #44 Hopelessly Lonely. The one I want to share is link #45 Hoplessly Lonely 2.
My only excuse is that I’ve been sick this week….and I have two sick teenagers home with me today. “Nuff said! :)
If you can help me thanks! If you can’t thanks anyway…for hosting this awesome site!
Kristi
Your husband is a smart man, either for truly not caring about silly details or for not telling you that they bother him. Either way, sounds like he pretty much rocks. Oh, and I mean, he totally married you, showing yet again his brilliance…
Only 2? You are awesome! Thanks for sharing. Funny, as usual.
Two things? Funny how you are harder on yourself than he was!
I didn’t dare give him the option of answering that question. It could have gotten really ugly! Like a name calling, finger pointing, “how dare you” kind of evening!
You are brave. And he was sweet and lenient :)
I’m laughing at the ones you picked because my ex had the same problem with me. There are so many clothes how could I be expected to know that orange shirts, purple shorts and black socks don’t look good on kids, and that occassionally driving over the bumpy things on the lines in the middle of the road would encourage car sickness.
He picked very diplomatically I must say. Kudos husband!
Like your husband mine doesn’t complain much, but I know I drive him NUTS! Especially since we live 24/7 in a small space together! (friendscharters.com to explain that). So I’m afraid to ask! I’m afraid if I get him started he won’t stop, lol! Your a brave woman!
I think it’s both. You’re easy to live with and your hubby is insanely patient like you say:)
I love that you wrote about this prompt too! I’m lucky that there is pretty much one main thing that I do that drives my DH crazy. If it was the other way around though, I’d have to dedicate 3 or 4 posts about what he does to drive ME crazy!
I shudder to think of all the things I do that annoy my wife …
He sounds so easy going. I mean! You sound so awesome! ;)
Yeah….I was afraid to even asked my hubby this question. He may still have been listing things off by today!
Loved it! Took the challenge but being without “other”. seemed significant so posted old journal item instead!
Chris
I um, didn’t take that prompt because I just didn’t have time to write all the things that annoy Hubs about me. LOL. Also, I just don’t think I could write bad things about myself today. *sigh*
but you sound AMAZING, only 2 things and they are not even bad things. I’m in awe of your awesomeness. :)
Ha! If I asked my hubs, I’d likely walk away after 2, THINKING there were only 2! lol! Cute. You guys are awesome!
I would be scared to ask David this question. I’m sure there are loads and loads of things he could come up with. I can be pretty annoying.
Yup! It does sound like you’re doing pretty darn well there! Mine could complain that I’m horrible about folding laundry.
I mean, I collect it, spot stain treat it, wash it, dry it (okay, so there’s machines doing those last two things, but it still takes my arms to load & unload it, right?!). But, yes, I’m horrible about folding it…..or I should specify, getting around to folding it!
And I laughed about Pat’s ‘inability to dress’ your kidlets when you go out of town because I always joke that I never worry when I go out of town because the worst thing that will probably happen is that Hubs/their Dad will dress the kidlets in a combo of plaids & stripes! So, nothing too detrimental. (I may have to change my opinion of that when their teens though! lol)
I am reading many of these and wow..so many great stories. Thanks for the prompts
you are one brave soul. i’m not sure i’d want to know – even though i’m pretty sure i’m perfect. you just never know how other people see perfection. ;)
Where is the button to put on my blog.
I had to do this prompt. My husband didn’t tell me any of his pet peeves. He thought it was a trap!
What a crack up … I’m afraid I’m too afraid to ask.
Thanks for hosting this little writing hop :)
Ha! I had to pick this one too, it was the easiest one. And yours don’t at all sound bad! I have about a billion endearing (annoying) things my husband could come up with if I let him. I wouldn’t by the way…
seems we both can find ways to irrated our husbands. I find this hard to believe.
Hi
I linked up several posts following several of your writing prompts. However I goofed on one, and included the wrong URL (to tell you the truth my daughter threw up as I was in the middle of it – and I became distracted. Too much information?? ) Anyway – the other links I linked up are correct, but #127 isn’t. I don’t seem to be able to delete it. Help please!
Thanks,
Lisa Taylor
hmmm…scared of the list I would get if I asked my hubby this question…you got off with only 2 things? Lucky you!
Really enjoying the writer’s workshop by the way!
Thanks for the prompts, I did one and linked up too. Lucky you for having a wonderful husband…
I would be scared to ask my husband…LOL. Pat sounds great ;-)
Only two things? That’s sweet… I can already think of maybe ten things that drove my exh crazy without even having to ask, haha! Then again, maybe that’s why he’s my exh…
OMG, he sounds pretty great, I am sure my hubby could name a ton of things I do that annoy him!
Ohhhh wow only 2??? I’m going to wait for my husband to come home and ask him….i have a feeling it might be more than…..2.
I couldn’t even participate this week, because I knew my husband would have list longer than my arm…..
