5.) Write a Haiku for Fall and pair it with a favorite Fall photo you’ve taken this year.

Have I mentioned how terrible I am at Haikus? Nonetheless, I’ve prepared a Haiku for you to view…inspired by Fall and my delightful son:

Fall brings leaves off trees.
Jumping boy falls to his knees.
Pour me more wine please

I’m such a slacker…this week is really all about you…let’s see what you’ve got!

Now it’s your turn!

Mama's Losin' It

Choose a prompt, post it on your blog, and come back to add your name to the link list below. Be sure to sign up with the actual post URL and not just your basic blog URL (click on the title of your post for that URL). For good comment karma try to comment on the three blogs above your name!!

The Prompts:

1.) Follow the template I copied from The Pioneer Woman without her permission and list 22 things you’ve never done.
2.) Tell about a time you accidentally “replied all” or sent an email to the wrong person by mistake.
3.) Describe a meal your spouse actually cooks better than you.
4.) Share the story behind your current Facebook and/or Twitter profile photo.
5.) Write a Haiku for Fall and pair it with a favorite Fall photo you’ve taken this year.

I don’t really get it but I like the wine part. ;-)

I think it has to do with how airborne children in proximity to furniture/sharp edges/other children/etc. make you want to run for the wine. At least that’s the effect airborne children have on me. :-)

I don’t get the haiku either, but I love to read Kat’s blog!
Paula, I agree with you!!

Well, you say you’re not good at haikus, but yours is FUNNY. Whatcha cooking up in that picture? Pumpkin muffins, I hope. They’re my favorite. I wish you were my neighbor who loved bringing me freshly baked muffins all the time… Dangit.

Wow, you posted this so fast. :) Awesome!

I don’t remember what exactly a Haiku is besides it being a poem, but I do have the article explaining that from “Writer’s Digest.” But I decided to pick #1. It was fun! :D

Love how you caught your son jumping like that!

Me? I’m just surprised it took until line 3 to get to the wine. :-)

I have a friend who does Haiku Thursday on her Facebook page. It leaves you praying that the words that convey exactly the frentic chaos you are trying to get across squeeeeeeze into that 5/7/5 construction. Not easy but irresistible!

Love it that the Linky is up so early – thank you!!

Love Thursdays! Thanks for the Navel Gazing opportunity. Appologies to everyone for the general link, I just bought my domain and the switchover has been a bit dicey.

Anyone know how to get my wonderful foolowers back?

I liked it! Haiku has always intimidated me. And that pic was epic.

Jen October 20, 2011 at 9:35 am

Just the word Haiku is intimidating, I didn’t even have the guts to try. I’m with them! I think you did great!

I love it! I don’t know why you don’t write more of these. I’m coming over for wine! God this week has been long….

Love it! Especially the “more wine please” part. Haikus usually make me think there is some deeper, hidden meaning that I’m somehow just not getting…..but this, this I get!

Why has it taken so long to find your site? LOVE IT!! Of course now I’ve used up my allotted computer time for the day – aka baby is waking up! – so I won’t be able to give you a haiku. Will definitely be back to participate in the writing fun soon.
