My Dog Is Gay

Post image for My Dog Is Gay

Remember at this time last year when a mom blogger wrote about her son dressing as Daphne for Halloween in a post she titled My Son Is Not Gay.

And how that post caused all kinds of controversy, received thousands of comments and even landed her front and center on MSNBC?

And how we all wished we had come up with that costume and post title FIRST because who knew calling your son gay in a catchy title and then defending his choice to cross dress for Halloween could go viral!?!

WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF THAT!?!

Well I didn’t have to.

This year I ran into the EXACT same problem.

My dog is gay.

Our Shih-Tzu, Jack, wanted to be Daphne for Halloween too, and you’ll never guess how the mothers at the dog park reacted when they saw my adorable dog in his costume.

Please watch this dramatic reenactment of the Nerdy Apple Bottoms post and share our story:

Okay I was snickering through most of it (because I’ve read the original blog post and I happen to love satire and spoofs) and then the line “marry a cat” came up and I busted a gut laughing so hard.

Absolutely love you for this post!

Seriously–WHY have you not been on Ellen yet? You REALLY need to be on TV.
Instant classic. Well done.

I’m over Ellen. She’s ignored our Mama for long enough. I want a Mama Kat talk show, hosted by 5 of her personalities. And, I want it bad.

The side profile of little Jack will always make me bust up laughing.

And then you started spinning him around in the air.

Freaking hilarious.

SOOOO worth the wait. I LOVED this.

As the mother of the kid who wears the pink hoodie and hat this really cracked me up. I remember the “Daphane issue” from last year. As I was watching the video the pink-hoodie son came in and watched over my shoulder ( oh for some privacy).. and watched.. his quote.. “She can’t MAKE her dog gay anymore than she can make him be a tree, if he is gay he is gay.. and if he is she really should get him a nicer wig”

I’m so glad someone else has this issue. My dog is not really “gay” rather, he loves everyone and people judge him for that. Just because he loves all doesn’t make him strange! lol

I’m happy to find someone else out there who is having as much with her dog as I am. I’m just afraid to put stuff out on my blog for fear of being Baker acted! ;-)

OMG!

I’m so proud that you are willing to accept your dog just the way he is! Good for you.

(So very funny. Why hasn’t Ellen returned your emails?)

OK, this is now my favorite Mama Kat post ever. The House of Mouse stuff was hard to top, but you’ve done it. And I want to personally request that Jack be including in ALL future vlogs, no matter the topic – he’s just that cute.

I wish Jack and Jamaica could go trick or treating together! They would be a major hit! Jamaica is going to be a leaf pile. All she has to do is go outside, walk through the leaves and she is in full costume.

And why aren’t you on television yet?! Seriously!!! You need someone to pitch you to 30 Rock, the building not the show!

I wasn’t into the blogging world this time last year so I didn’t know about the original “My Son is Gay” post, but I went back and read it. And THEN I watched the video. Freakin’ GE.NIUS! Voice inflections were perfect for the content. It was a work of beautiful comedy art.

Why?

If you’ve ever seen Legally Blonde 2 they even talk about gay dogs.

Character in dog salon: “Your dogs are GAY!”

Fricken hilarious. And so is this. The haters need to be peed on like they’re a fire hydrant.

This was incredibly funny. I too remember last year’s Daphne costume story. In fact, if you visit the Nerdy Apple Bottom blog this year, you’ll see her son wearing all sorts of costumes, including Wonder Woman and a rather cute sock hop outfit. Anyway, I support your dog’s decision and yours for backing him up. I hope you land a spot on the Today Show.

Glad to have discovered you through Saucy Bitch’s blog.
