4.) Pumpkins! Anything with pumpkins!
I really only see the pumpkin patch as an opportunity for Fall flavored photos. Everything takes on an orange tint here in October and I know that throwing my kids in a field of pumpkins and corn is sure to set the Fall mood for us.
The truth is, and I’m just going to come out and say it…my kids are getting big. These pictures of them are fine I guess. I mean I definitely think my kids are adorable, but something is missing.
And I’m pretty sure it’s an bundled up baby.
I mean this is great and all:
And I’m certain I’ll be dragging my kids to pumpkin patches and Santa pictures and on Easter egg hunts until they’re well into their 30′s (the mom blogger who just. won’t. quit.), but remember when they looked like this?:
and this:
I need more of those before they turn into gum chewing, eye rolling, annoyed looking teenagers.
Either that or I may start taking pictures of my animals posing with pumpkins to make up for the lack of cutsie in my growing children.
Oh wait I already do that…
I’m pretty much screwed, aren’t I?

I know just how you feel! It feels like my kids were just born yesterday! I get so caught up in the daily chaos that I turn around and years have gone by!! Adorable pictures!!
Oh, I think your kids are still cute, but cats always stay cute, tis true! For me, I prefer the older kids–babies scare me and toddlers are just too whiny, moody to suit me. Having a kitten was the closest I’ve come to having a toddler around, that was enough. I was actually eager for it to become a cat, even though it did lose some of its cuteness.
Beautiful pictures! I know what you mean about children going and changing on you. I find I go along and then all of a sudden, I stop and go, “WHOA! How did you get to be this big?!” It takes me by surprise. I am still going to take pictures of them, though – even when they are eye-rolling teenagers!
Seriously! They’re like ALLLL legs…Maile will probably outgrow Pat by the end of January. ;)
I love those hay bale spiders! I’m heading in the same direction with my girls…”they grow up so fast”!
oh, I feel your pain. I get so caught up in what I want to do sometimes and what I think is important that I lose days of their growing and that always makes me feel guilty and sad…my sons are 2 and 4. It is hard to balance everything and try to soak it all up.
The hard part about parenting is that it’s so easy to look back at pictures of our kids and long for those sweet little faces again, but the truth is…that picture of little Kainoa above? I remember him being a complete butthead that day. I definitely was not holding him close and squeezing him tight, he was a brat. But I conveniently forget that part of it all.
We’re just now at the stage where our oldest “gets” it when it comes to all things holidays–this will be our first year to a real pumpkin patch. I can’t wait!
Your kids are cute, bet they will still be cute when they are annoyed teenagers. :)
I LOVE when they start getting it. That is such a fun age…although then they really start holding you accountable. I can’t just “skip” the pumpkin patch. They have expectations now!
Now there is a REAL pumkpin farm…compared to what I could find in Florida☺ Great shots.

That’s funny I was just reading a blog post from a Florida blogger the other day and her kids were all decked out at a pumpkin patch. She only showed a row of pre-picked pumpkins so I couldn’t tell what the farm looked like. It’s so strange to see a post from her one day enjoying the ocean in swimsuits and the next day they were wearing turtlenecks and boots at a pumpkin patch. What’s going on over there? LOL!
They are cuties!! You could always take random pics of other people’s babies at the pumpkin patch…you may run into some “issues” but it’s worth a shot…LOL!
Ha! While your cat is cute – I think your kids are still pretty cute too. My daughter is already 2 and I am always so amazed to see how much she has grown since she was a baby. I’m probably going to cry like an idiot the day she goes away to college and she’ll just roll her eyes at me.
I understand. They grow up so fast. My oldest is almost 11 and a total pre teen. I look back at pumpkin patch photos when she was 6, and I simply cannot believe the difference 5 years makes! Love your photos. Your kids look so happy. :) Pumpkins seem to always induce smiles.
I make all mine carve pumpkins for a big contest. This year my oldest will be gone for the first time. I feel pretty normal about it now but wonderful if I’ll be all silent and inwardly weepy when the four of us are carving our pumpkins without him. Still yours have big smiles on their faces — the must enjoy the tradition of it.
If they get even a fraction of your sense of humor I’m imagining a lot entertaining silly and sassy, rather than gum chewing and eye rolling. Fingers crossed! :)
Your kids are cute no matter that they’re growing up so fast! I agree with Andrea, watch out if your kids get your sense of humour. The teen years will be one big laugh out loud!
Yeah, pretty much. Although, my eye rollers would be be completely delighted to pick their own pumpkin. You never know.
I can so relate….now that they’re old enough they tell me exactly what they think about my incessant need to keep taking their picture at the pumpkin patch. They’re still cute, but it’s a different kind of cute. I don’t care, of course. I still force them to comply (and bribe them with apple donuts) :)
Yeah bored looking teenagers hanging out by some pumpkins isn’t really instagram worthy is it? Hmm maybe that just means you need to have more babies?
Your babies were adorable then and they are beautiful now. I miss the moments when my kids were babies too. I am still trying to convince them to stop growing up.
Looks like a lot of fun!
