5.) Tell us what (or who) you’re crushing on.

I’m crushing on a new puppy that I somehow weaseled into our family. We have a dog, but I wanted a little friend for him. Pat’s specifications were that the little friend needed to be the same kind of dog (shih tzu mix), a female, and brown/white instead of black/white.

Last Saturday I found her. She’s tiny and adorable.

I'd say we're smitten.

And she pees everywhere. She doesn’t even know she’s peeing…which makes two of us because I don’t know she’s peeing either. I’ve become a crazy lady who takes the puppy out every 30 minutes just in case. Every time she sits down I throw myself across the room to catch her and she looks at me like “Dammmmn lady…can’t a girl sit around here?”

She's super rambunctious.

She also cries at night like a little baby. Since I can’t trust her to be sitting anywhere in the house I have to train her to sleep in a crate and girlfriend was not crazy about that idea on night one. Lucky for me the “crying it out” method worked for her and now after four nights she’s doing much better.

Meet Sandy...my early Mother's Day gift. :)

She also prefers breast milk. I know this because she spent the first 12 hours of her arrival chasing our dog in an attempt to nurse. Maybe he looks like her mother? I don’t know, but he’s officially afraid of her and she’s getting really cocky with her power over him. We wanted a female because we didn’t want our dog to compete for alpha position with another male dog in the house…but this darling little bundle has already made it clear who’s boss.

Ankle biter.

I love her though. She’s snugly and soft and tiny and perfect. And we named her Sandy, after Bob’s Sandy.

Cute dog but I prefer ones who don’t have issues, like ours.

She is ADORABLE! And I swear she could be Luna’s twin. We have a Maltese and Shi Tzu mix. But I did not have the self-control that you have, and after one night of trying to “cry it out” she ended up in our bed, on my pillow to be exact. She just turned 3 last weekend and very clearly rules the roost. Have fun!

She must come over and play with our Gwen. They can sit down together and make us both nuts. {that part made me snort my coffee…I’m riiiiiight there with you.}

Super sweet! My daughter, 8 this month, is crushing on puppies. She’s decided she wants a Maltese. White. Named Octo. She’s not specific or anything… She says she’s been patiently waiting for 4 years! It’s true. Oh, you’re giving me puppy fever too!

Aww…puppy breath! Adorable.

Puppies are devils bait. Who could resist that cute cuddle cotton swab! And you snuggle and love and buy all this cute stuff for the lil darling. And then they crap all over the house and eat 2 laptop power cords. While they are plugged in, no less, and then they have the audacity to live through the electric shock. TWICE!
Sandy is adorable…..s-u-c-k-e-r! ;)

I’m so glad you clarified the breast milk thing, because I was just a little concerned how you knew this….

good point Dyanne!

I thought I was the only one who followed the dog around waiting for her to pee. Luckily, we have tile floors downstairs so it is easy to clean up.

Now that is one CUTE puppy. Glad she’s yours and not mine but still…….all cuteness. :-)

Tiffany May 9, 2013 at 8:10 am

OMG I can’t stand the cuteness!!!!

Shell (Panama-mama) May 9, 2013 at 8:17 am

OMG your puppy is adorable! I’m really wanting another dog- but not the peeing part. Think it would make mine not sleep all day long!

Caitlin May 9, 2013 at 8:54 am

Aw, she is so cute! Reminds me of my own puppy who unfortunately won that whole cry herself to sleep in the cage battle… Sometimes I wake up to her head on my pillow! ;)

Adorable.

Oh my goodness, she’s just as precious as can be. I’ve puppy fever so bad for months now, and seeing these adorable pictures has just made it worse. I remember the days of peeing everywhere and crying it out, and I don’t care. I want a puppy!

Marta May 9, 2013 at 11:05 am

PUPPY!

Jen May 9, 2013 at 11:37 am

Ginny Marie May 9, 2013 at 12:15 pm

OMG, could she get any cuter? (The answer is no!)

Andrea May 9, 2013 at 12:28 pm

She’s adorable! But the pee? Yep got enough of that around here.

Jennifer May 9, 2013 at 12:59 pm

I can not believe you made that baby cry it out.

And how much do I love that you named her after Bob’s Sandy. Too many of my favorite people in this six degrees of separation.
