My best memory of my mother reading to us when we were young was when she would sit us down with The Monster At The End Of This Book.

It’s also the only memory I have of my mother reading to us, which leads me to believe she read that book to us because SHE liked the book and that it was less about our quality time together.

And boy could she ever read that book! So when one of our Mommalogues questions this week asked what our favorite book was as a child, I knew exactly what I was going to…move over Harry Potter, there’s a new monster in town:

Ah! I had totally forgotten about that book! My mom read it to me too.

One of the very best books ever written. Grover really doesn’t get enough credit in the Sesame Street world–that guy was hilarious!

Ah, that was definitely my favourite of all time. A classic, I must say. And the best part is, you can still buy it today. I think I’ll go do that, just for old time’s sake.

I loved this book, too. I remember reading it at my friend’s house after preschool. I don’t know that we had it at home, though…
