Threatening To Tell Dad

This week for Mommalogues we were asked to share a parenting tactic that we swore we would never do when we became parents.

I had all kind of parenting pet peeves before I had kids of my own. One of my biggest (and still is) pet peeves is when I see parents getting worked over by their kids because they don’t want to deal with the backlash of a temper tantrum.

I annoy my own self when I find myself negotiating with a whining child who is determined to get their way. Or when I warn them that they should stop the bad behavior or something bad is going to happen…but don’t follow through. I hate myself a little when I find myself buying them a toy at Target just to ensure a calm trip for all of us.

But none of those parenting peeves were discussed in my video, instead I focused on an entirely different (but equally obnoxious) disciplinary tactic and it involves me threatening to tell Dad…that’s right, I have fully stooped to tattling at six year old level:

Other topics I covered this week include:

What has been the most challenging stage of parenting so far?
What’s the perfect age gap between kids?
