4. A year in review! Compile a years worth of your best blog posts and pictures.
It’s my favorite time of year! Time to look back and pick out the best of 2014 in terms of blog posts and favorite pictures. I always love looking back at the fun we survived together and sort of want to hang on to the year a bit longer when it’s been a good one. My only wish for 2015 is that I hope I end it the same way I’m ending 2014…happy and in one piece with my entire, great big, healthy family!:
January.
Obviously my favorite post of 2014 has to be my best of 2013 recap, but as far blog posts that mean something to me I enjoy this one about a why it bothers me that I can’t fly.
February.
I thanked a stranger who helped my toddler down an escalator after I stranded her at the top.
March.
I shared my preparation plans to flee the country and was not taken seriously enough.
April.
I listed the many wonderful things that make me happy in life.
May.
I talked about Laina’s traumatic birth and the affect it didn’t have on her. I also shared something Anne Frank’s father said that made me do a double take at my own tween.
June.
We spent our first day of Summer in Hawaii and if it’s possible to be jealous of my past self…I am.
July.
My little great dane turned seven and we were still in Hawaii and I’m still jealous. But super relieved Kainoa didn’t develop a taste for alcohol after cracking open his first beer while we were there.
August.
I learned my husband keeps a knife in our bedroom and my children got into an argument that made me want to tackle them. Old habits die hard.
September.
In a sick twist of fate my Granny passed away just 15 days after I wrote about digging into her fascinating life, not a great month, but she lived a full, beautiful life.
October.
My girl turned 11 and my husband took on a personal challenge for himself that turned out to be more of a personal challenge for ME.
November.
My husband and I celebrated 12 years of marriage and I spent some time reflecting on my own parents marriage.
December.
Merry Christmas from Santas pictures of our past is always my favorite December throwback.
Onward 2015!
Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year! what a fun year in review. Life at your house must always be a party.
Mama Kat says
This comment made me laugh this morning because I literally JUST screamed at Laina to calm down. Too noisy for my ears at 9am, this child is WOUND UP! Soooooo…not always a party, but I don’t take pictures of myself acting like a monster to obnoxious children. Those are no fun to look at! ;)

I love your new year picture at the top! Happy new year to you and your beautiful family.
Mama Kat says
Thanks Marcy! I’m glad I can bring some of those family members out of their shells for a NYE photo. They’re not always cooperative for their loony mother. ;)

You are quite a photographer! The diving board shot is amazing.
A year of ups and downs….as I suppose they all are…but filled with all that makes life worthwhile. Especially, love and family (and travel!).

Looks like a fun and busy year!
Ps I am 99.9% sure I did the workshop thing wrong because
A. I have no idea what I’m doing.
B. Like my children, I am terrible at following directions.
I am finding some awesome new blogs to follow because of it though so thanks for that!
Happy new year!

Fresh year, fresh start! Glad your 2014 was so awesome (and I’m jealous of your Hawaii moments, too!). Shooting for a lot more writing this year with all of you.
