4.) What were you writing about last year at this time? What has changed since then?
She’s light on her feet when he approaches and dashes past him quickly.
“Sometimes she ducks because she thinks I’m gonna hit her.”
My son made this comment about our cat, but it reminded me of my childhood.
Speaking of cats, last year at this time we rehomed a darling kitten that our neighbors found in the middle of the night. My kids (and I) were heartbroken that we couldn’t keep her, but we found a wonderful home for her with a longtime family friend.
He had been living alone since his wife passed away and our little rescue kitty has brought him so much joy. I love seeing his Facebook updates about her, “Sang Happy Birthday to Kamalani this morning. Today she makes 1 year old. My baby girl has been such a blessing in my life! Hau’oli La Hanau Kamalani!”
Just look how she’s grown!:

Now that is the sweetest thing ever. My grandpa tried to pawn off a cat on us. We had a dog at the time and he wanted to eat the cat. My parents ended up giving the cat to my grandma who was living alone. I just remember her lighting up — treated that thing like her own baby. I think pets do amazing things for us.

She is such a pretty little thing! I’m so glad that you were able to light up your friend’s life like that. There’s nothing like the love of a pet to do a heart good. :)
