I’ve been working to keep a smile on my baby niece’s face since she was two months old.
She comes over everyday and I chase her and coo at her and rock her to sleep.
She repays me with dirty diapers and spit up.
She started walking too early and she tips around the house like she’s three sheets to the wind.
A good portion of my day is spent catching her from falling on my dogs.
Something I’m fairly certain she’s doing on purpose.
She screams at me for food, entertainment, and comfort like the queen she is.
And I happily serve her, because…have you seen those smiles??

She is the sweetest. There’s something special about a hard won smile from a baby. My daughter was the same way, and I spent nearly all my time trying to get her to smile. Luckily she grew into a kid who smiles easily, just in time to become a teenager.

Oh my gosh, she is so adorable! I’m thankful none of my kids were early walkers! lol They probably would’ve tried falling on my dog, too. It definitely looks like she’s a joy to have around with those smiles.

What a cutie! There’s nothing like that “forward tilt” when they just start walking! Love the link-up! Thanks for hosting!

I agree! I get my fill of that cutie during the day and then hand her tired butt over to her mother in the evening. I win!
