2. My least favorite part of my day is…
I have so many least favorite parts of my day and I’d hate to really limit myself to just choosing one
1. Waking Up
I just can’t get up. Ever. Staying in bed feels so good and it’s so early and cold out. Please don’t make me wake up.
2. Getting Dressed
I want to wear the same sweats and hoodie every single day. Trying to pull myself together to find a new outfit that I’m not going to tug at all day is too much to ask. Please don’t make me dress myself.
3. Making Lunches
I am too tired to hunt through my cupboards for food to fill my kids at lunch time. I over pack them everyday with anything and everything I can scrape from the shelves and sandwiches are the worst. Too hard. Don’t make me make lunches.
4. Making Dinner
The only thing worse than making lunches is deciding what our family of five will agree to eat together for dinner. Everyone likes different things and by this time my coffee has worn off and I’m too tired to care.
5. Cleaning
I will distract myself with all sorts of new projects and Google searches to avoid cleaning up after my own family. One of my goals this year is to get better at identifying when I’m dawdling on the Internet and go CLEAN something instead. Don’t make me clean.
6. Sending Kids To Bed
You should listen to my kids imitate me telling them it’s time to go to bed. They’re all, “Okay kids bed time! Go brush teeth and get pajamas on please. It’s time to turn that off guys, come on. Maile have you brushed your teeth? Go brush’em…you too Laina and Kainoa. Has anyone moved?? GO BRUSH YOUR TEEEEETHHHH!!!”I listened to them imitate me the other day and was like, “so if you KNOW that’s exactly how it goes, why don’t you do it the first time I ask?” Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a wonderful crescendo, but definitely not the “time for bed” crescendo that I perform every night.
7. Going To Bed
Once my kids are in bed I magically catch a second wind. I have good shows to watch, friends to catch up with on Facebook, videos to edit, blog posts to write…so many fun things to do! I need sleep. I’ve heard it’s healthy for me. I’m nicer when I get more sleep, but I don’t wanna go to bed! I don’t wanna. I don’t wanna. I DON’T WANNA!!!
I think it’s clear I’m still a toddler.

I don’t like to wake up either. I loathe it. I also don’t like going to bed. It’s like Awwww! I finally get to relax and do what I want for a moment.

I am so with you on getting dressed! It’s THE WORST. Sometimes I wish I had to wear a uniform. Of course, if I actually did my own laundry more than once a month and actually put away the clean clothes, it might not be as challenging… but still!
Mama Kat says
Hahaha! Yes, the laundry might be part of my problem too!
Vanessa H says
Getting out of bed and dinner are my worst. Not making dinner, exactly, but trying to figure out something good and healthy to make that everyone will eat is the worst.
Mama Kat says
Yes, exactly! It’s the figuring out of dinner that is the worst!
John Holton says
So basically the worst part of your day starts when you get up and ends whenyou decide to go to sleep? I can relate.
Mama Kat says
Hahaha! I think some good things happen in between there every once in awhile… ;

Vicious cycle, isn’t it?! I can not imagine parenting the little person in the video who is escaping bed time! I might have to raise the white flag of surrender!
Jennifer Worrell says
Omg the lunches! I mix them up occasionally, too. It’s a hot mess!
