We teased my stepdad about advice he once gave my brother.
The advice came after my brother and his friend shot out our neighbor’s window with a BB gun and my brother naturally put full blame on the friend.
“There are three things you never lend your best friend. 1. your wife. 2. your gun and 3. your chainsaw.”
We could not fathom what could go wrong with allowing your friend to borrow your chainsaw. As adults we had a good laugh when one of us DID lend a chainsaw to a friend and they broke it.
Now I’m sitting with a tree blocking my driveway and every sibling I’ve asked about a chainsaw claims they don’t own one.
I can’t help but feel skeptical…I think they all own one but they’re unwilling to break life lesson #3.
Bob was right. As usual.

The tree looks pretty with the snow on it. I know once it melts though, it will be a major inconvenience in the daily flow of things. I hope you find a chainsaw soon. I think, some places, you can even rent them from.

I thought about leaving the tree there and just using it as an excuse for the rest of my life as to why I can’t leave my house. ;)

But, you have the argument that you AREN’T a friend but a relative – so that sage piece of advice in inapplicable…right?!
Good luck getting rid of that tree.
Mama Kat says
Yeah, you would think there would be some solidarity between siblings!
Working Mommy Diaries says
Funny, thanks for sharing, hope you got your driveway cleared.
Mama Kat says
It’s clear! Pat removed the tree piece by piece with a handsaw!
