Last week I shared that my precious foster dog was getting adopted. I really REALLY considered adopting her and even Pat said she set the standard for all Greyhounds in this house should we ever consider adopting one. She is perfect!
I’ll be honest though, I filmed my goodbye and had a mini breakdown after she left. I think the hardest part about letting a foster dog go is thinking about how confused they must be. I’m sure she thought this was her new home. She was nervous about the men at the door who came to pick her up and yet I handed her right over to them so that they could crate her and then fly her to Alaska.
I texted Pat immediately after she left, “I’m not ok” and then “she trusted me!”
Lucky for me her new family immediately sent me updates and have even called to let me know how she is doing. It made all the difference in the world to see her with her new Greyhound brother!

Winter the Greyhound’s new home is perfect and I am 100% positive we did the right thing letting her go. I definitely miss her sweet face, but I suppose that just means a trip to Alaska for a visit is in my future.
