Time for a November recap! The family band is back at it again to celebrate Thanksgiving and thanks to Coeur d’Alene Resort for providing everything we needed to find the North Pole!
We packed up the kids after Thanksgiving and headed to Idaho just in time for the kick off of their holiday lights and it was amazing. We got to watch fireworks from our hotel balcony that overlooked the marina, it was the perfect start to a festive weekend.
I have actually taken my kids to the Coeur d’Alene Resort a number of times because my best friend lives there and we LOVE it! You just visit one time and it’s no wonder she made it home. The Resort is super family friendly, a beautiful pool, a boardwalk around the marina, parks, Silverwood Theme Park is nearby, shopping and (my kids personal favorite) curtains operated by your own remote control.
While we have frequented the Coeur d’Alene Resort in the past, we have never experienced the Journey to the North Pole to see Santa. The cruise boats are decked out in holiday lights with offerings of hot cocoa and snacks as we make our way over to see Santa. Along the way is a very funny Grinch, a fire breathing dragon and even more fireworks. Santa reads off the kids on his list, they get excited and we head back to the hotel full of glee.
Take a look at our trip in detail captured in my November recap! The trip portion of the video starts at about the 3 minute mark:

The trip was so much fun. I was glad Pat had the time off work to finally come along, he loved it too. Add Coeur d’Alene to your list of places to visit and thanks again to Coeur d’Alene Resort for hosting our family. A variety of their holiday cruises operate from Thanksgiving all the way up to the New Year. I would go again this weekend if we could!
Where is the coolest place you have seen holiday lights?
