3. Create a gift guide.
My 12 year old daughter sent me her Christmas wish list. She would like:
1. An iphone.
2. Gift Cards.
3. Anything else.
Today I would like to focus on that “anything else” portion of her list since I am not quite in the position to cough up 500 dollars for a phone that she won’t EVEN SPEAK ON. Kids don’t even talk on the phone anymore. She has an ipod that she texts and face times people from. Why does she need a phone? I don’t get it and she doesn’t like me for being so logical and/or poor.
Gift cards are boring and let’s be honest, I’m not going to wrap 5 tiny cards and have that be her gift. I need the gifts under my tree to have a little more girth than that.
I’m left with no choice but to hone in on “anything else.” Anything else is better than the phone she won’t use, but that I will be paying on for two years while incorporating her new phone line into our already too expensive plan.
I give you my list of Anything Else you can get that special 12 year old girl in your life:
1. Cleaning Supplies.
Imagine her glee when she opens a bucket filled with her own cleaning supplies and towels. She will get her chores done SO much faster!
2. A new dog leash.
She loves dogs so much. Seriously her favorite animal. I think a new dog leash will make walking the dog so much more fun for her every morning after her chores.
3. A hamper.
My poor child has had a really difficult time figuring out WHERE to put her dirty clothes. Bathroom floor? Bedroom floor? Living room? Hallways? With a new hamper she won’t feel confused anymore and she will love a place where all of her dirty clothes can be togeher.
4. A wallet.
She’ll need something to keep her chore money in as she saves up for a new phone!
5. An ebay account.
Setting up an ebay account is pretty easy to do and she will love having a little shop where she can list all of the items she received from previous Christmases that she no longer uses. Starting with that American Girl doll she begged for…
6. Annie the movie.
Now those kids can work!! Annie and her foster sisters make cleaning fun with songs and dance. I think my daughter could learn a lot about how to keep home clean from them.
7. Lastly,
I will silk screen pictures of kittens onto her favorite jeans and tee shirt so that they look brand new again. That’s what my sisters did for me when we were younger and I WAS THRILLED!
SEVEN GIFTS!!! She’s really going to score with all of this anything else that she wanted! I’m so glad she left that option on her list.

$500? My iPhone 8 was more like $700. But then you’d probably get a refurbished one for her. If, in fact, you were to get her one, which I think is probably not gonna happen…
You know, you ought to get that stuff for her. That’d teach her… heh heh heh…
No Linky this week?
Mama Kat says
Oh thanks for mentioning the linky! I created it and now it’s gone. Just re-added it!
And yes, phones are ridiculously expensive. She has an ipod, no way am I buying her a phone!

Fabulous ideas. Get her a gift card for Books a Million, so she’ll have to read (or Nobles)
By the way, I couldn’t find the linky to connect up.

She is obsessed with the Warrior Cats series. That’s definitely a direction I feel better about!
Just added the linky again. Sorry about that! Come back and add yours!!

Seven gifts! She’s raking it in! My children all get one gift plus a stocking! They get so spoiled by others that they don’t need more from me. Plus, we are taking a big vacation this summer and a few mini vacations.
Also, EBAY account! Fabulous idea! We have a closet full of American girl Dolls and accessories.
