6. What were you blogging about a year ago? What has changed since then?
A year ago at this time I was blogging about frustration with my lack of ability to drop substantial weight. I tried running and calorie counting and the weather got cold and stopped running and I stopped running and I got bored of calorie counting.
I re-read the post and nod my head emphatically. NOTHING has changed. I still lose interest in any given activity at even the slightest disruption. I am still extremely frustrated that I cannot reach and maintain a weight that I am happy with. I still spend far too much of my brain energy thinking about what clothes look like on me. And I’m still a minimum of ten pounds over a comfortable body weight.
This is just silly. Am I going to be concerned about weight until I’m old and grey? What a stupid thing to waste my time on. At what point do I just accept that this is my natural womanly weight? I’m a mom. I don’t need to be Beyonce. But if I stop thinking about it and putting in effort to live healthier, will the weight gain increase? Maybe I worry about it just enough to keep the weight in once place.
SO! After a glance back I see that my goals for 2015 were:
- Drink more water
- Eat salad every night
- Cook more
- Clean more
- Upload YouTube videos 4 days a week
- Lose 10 pounds
- Be nicer to my husband
In 2016 I added:
- Walk your damn dogs.
In 2017 I added:
- Pay off those credit cards
- Fix my house. We need new carpet, patched walls, updated paint…it’s time!
And since I didn’t really master any of those past resolutions, I’d like to hang on to them for 2018 and also add:
- Do something active consistently. Seriously anything will do at this point.
- Punctuality. Show up when you say you will show up and meet your deadlines AHEAD OF TIME.
- Also go to BED. Sleep more!
Even though I did not accomplish most, if any of those resolutions over the course of the past three years, 2018 is going to be a raging success!! I’m in it to win it, who’s with me!? What’s your resolution?
The Prompts:
1. Share your 2018 New Year’s Resolution. How did last year’s turn out?
2. Did you pick a Word Of The Year for 2018? Share!
3. If the way you spent your New Year’s Eve is any indication of how the rest of the year will go, how would you say your future is looking right about now?
4. Share your top 12 blog posts from 2017.
5. Share your top 12 photos from 2017.

I’m in it to win it this year! Literally, I want all my teams to win all the things!
I would like to do more volunteer work. I have a list of places and things I want to do. I have a year to accomplish like five things, I think I can do it. I am going to finish the Masters.
My favorite goal is to travel more. :)

I’m in it to win it…I think? lol If there’s any disruption in my routine, I’m a mess. I went to MN for a month and then was gone for a week in Aug. I had ZERO desire to walk on the treadmill or go back to the gym. I really have enjoyed Zumba and try to go at least 2x/week. It’s just so fun I actually don’t want to miss it! Like you, I wonder if I’ll be thinking about how I look until the day I die. Is anyone every truly 100% satisfied? Even those who we’d consider in amazing shape? I need to work on my water intake. I can’t stand water so I’ll have to. I haven’t really set goals, but I’m sure things will come up over the year. You can do this!!

I like the sleep idea. Fixing up stuff in a house seems to never end.

Children may go into an inactive mode in the cool weather, so it is important for parents to keep them alert both physically and mentally, during the holidays. These activities will do the trick.

I love your resolutions and any of them could easily be mine :)
But I never keep resolutions, so I resolved never to make resolutions.
Wait, that’s a resolution.
Dang it!
I secretly resolve to finish my book and make this year more exciting and fun for my kids and I :)

The holiday left me all screwed up and I thought yesterday was Wednesday, so I’m a little late here…
I gave up making resolutions or choosing a keyword for the year a while back. I always managed to forget all about them by the time New Year’s Day was over.
I saw an article today (https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/what-are-anti-resolutions-trend-2018-254459) that suggested that anti-resolutions (things you resolve NOT to do) are the latest resolutions. Might be worth a try…
