6. Share a favorite recipe you have been loving.
I like to cook! I actually do. I don’t like making a mess, I don’t like cleaning the mess, but I DO like trying new recipes. It helps that my husband is fun to cook for and that he happily does the dishes for me when after I’ve piled them into the sink. Recently I tried a meal delivery service after using someone’s coupon code for half off and (not sponsored) I fell in love.
I ordered a box of three meals with two servings per meal (you can select a more expensive family option, but my kids are picky so I cook separate/simpler meals for them). I also realized that all of the meal delivery services work almost exactly the same way and cost almost exactly the same price. They also all run the same “receive half off your first box!” promotional deals and I used that promotional deal from three different companies. Blue Apron. Home Chef. And Hello Fresh.
I actually shared my experience and compared all three meal services on YouTube. Watch below for the details:

My favorite “recipe” (this is a stretch on the prompt, I know) is ANY meal delivery service. They provide recipes that are healthier than what I would normally cook, they are more adventurous than what I would normally cook and they are more delicious than what I would normally cook. I love them and I highly recommend them. The downside is that they are also more expensive than I would normally cook. Without a promotional deal, one box with 3 meals (2 very large servings each) is about $60. Let’s be honest, I can make a pot of spaghetti to feed my entire family for less than 10 dollars. I think.
The cost is just…too high. But I am definitely over here trying to cut my grocery bill down by $60 every week so that I can afford another meal delivery service. If you get a chance to order one, try it out! But just remember to cancel your subscription or remember to go in and skip the weeks you do not want a service.
An aside: If you DO decide to take advantage of the “first box” promotional deals from multiple different services…please remember to cancel a couple of them or you might end up with three boxes of meals on your doorstep and a charge of $180 to your accounts. JUST SAYING!
The Prompts:
1. The last time my heart melted was because…
2. A list of 15 ideas to make this your best year yet.
3. Write about how you would spend the perfect Snow Day.
4. Write a blog post inspired by the word: free.
5. Share something that you worked on this week.
6. Share a favorite recipe you have been loving.

I like the thought of the meal delivery, but can’t quite bring myself to try one. I have enjoyed emeals though. The recipes push me out of my comfort zone and we have found things we truly like from it.

I love Home Chef! They have my favorite meals. Hello Fresh is hit or miss. Blue Apron I was not pleased with.
I do have to remind myself to go in and pick the meals I want though or cancel the week, otherwise the whole charging your card for lots of money thing…might have happened, once or twice.
Happy Thursday!

We haven’t even considered a meal delivery service. Mary likes to cook and we have all different types of appliances, including an Instant Pot, several slow cookers, a Breville oven, and recently got an air fryer. She cooks in advance a lot and puts everything in the refrigerator, because we both think that dishes are better after they’ve been given a chance to sit in the refrigerator for a day or two. But that’s us; I can imagine it’s different when you’re cooking for an army. Glad you found something you like!
