4. Write a blog post inspired by the word: finally.
Remember Luna? Our foster dog since January? She has seizures and we’ve been working with the local animal shelter to help regulate her on medication. Everyone loves Luna. As high maintenance as it feels to remember to give her medication everyday, she’s still the most loving little thing. She fit in so well here that we entertained the idea of just keeping her, but as I’ve said before a third dog feels like a lot. That extra presence in the house is significant, that one more thing to trip over, one more thing to find a babysitter for when we go out of town, and don’t forget the additional cost in dog food.
So we did not adopt Luna, but instead we loved on her and medicated her and documented her seizures for her veterinarian at the animal shelter. When I took her in for her last check up, the veterinarian said she had a friend who was looking for a dog like Luna. She took some videos and pictures of her while we were there and sent them along to her friend. By the time we got back home she had already called to let me know the friend was interested.
And just like that, Luna was finally adopted. She finally has a home to live in forever and best of all, her adopter is a veterinarian. Who better to track seizures and make adjustments to medication than her very own veterinarian-mom?
We are thrilled she has gone to such a wonderful family. Finally!

I am so happy that Luna got adopted! She has the perfect furrever home! Someone to love on her and someone who knows how to take care of her special medical needs!

She’s so cute, and I can imagine you really wanted to keep her. She’s in a wonderful home now, though, with someone who can deal with her medical issues. That can be tough: we’ve had several cats who were diabetic, and had to give them insulin every day. The only thing you can do if you end up going out of town is to board them, and that gets expensive.
