2. Listen to the sounds in your house for 5 or 10 minutes. Write about what you hear.
I hear 5th grade feet
Dog feet too
I hear them boom
From room to room
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I hear a sneezing dude
A tissue wipe,
Pop music play
Rappers Delight
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The hum of the computer
So fast with wifi
Is also on the lap
Of my husband nearby
I hear kids brushing teeth
Saying, “Goodnight so soon?”
They’re really saying
“I love you”
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Kat,
What a wonderful world, indeed! I love your spin on this prompt. I thought about that one for a fleeting second before striking it off. I wished I had given it more thought. Your take on it is delightfully sweet! Thanks for hosting the fun and thanks for allowing me to play along. :)

That *is* a wonderful world! It’s always a good idea to stop and really pay attention to the wonderful world going on in our own homes every now and then. What seems like chaos most of the time can take on an entirely new meaning with a fresh perspective.
Sorry about my user pic in the linky – I did that on my phone and couldn’t crop it just right. Then I came to my computer to do it right, but the link and photo were already there and I couldn’t replace the photo. I promise I’m wearing clothes!

Kat! This is so beautiful and sweet. Often the sounds of our wonderful world/lives feel like a cacophony and we forget to appreciate the pattering of little feet and screeches of delight. Thank you for the reminder to pause and really listen. (And what a gorgeous kitty y’all have!)
