6. Write about how you spent Mother’s Day.
We hit the road again this past weekend and hit up Oregon for another volleyball tournament. This year has been busier than any other we’ve had with sports and I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love watching the kids play and improve, but the way the tournaments are staggered between the two girls this year leaves me pining for a weekend of nothing. We’re nearing the end of the season though, so there is an end in sight.
In the meantime, Oregon State University has won Maile over completely. Two years in a row now we’ve attended this tournament in the Spring and everything is in full sunny bloom. It really is a beautiful campus and she now has her heart set on becoming a Beaver. She’s only a Freshman though so we’re not signing any letters of intent quite yet. Maybe I’ll plan a weekend excursion to the lovely Bellingham, Washington where she can see another beautiful campus in full bloom and a little closer to her mama!
We spent Mother’s Day in beautiful Corvallis, Oregon and I watched my girls play their little hearts out and listened to Kainoa complain about it. It was lovely and pretty much exactly how every Mother’s Day is going to go for the next four years…unless our volleyball club decides to stop attending.
I shared our weekend (along with the rest of the week) in a video if you’d like to see some of the action:

I got a big laugh when you said “I watched my girls play their little hearts out and listened to Kainoa complain about it.” I think I empathize with him, even though I’ve never been in his position.
Out-of-state tuition tends to really be expensive, not that in-state tuition is that much lower anymore. Is there a tournament at WWU that you could talk the coach into?
