5. First day of school!
When you’re self employed you say yes to too many things because you need to make the money when you can get it.
When you work from home you have to balance all the things you said yes to with trips to the beach and monitoring popsicle intake during the summer months.
I reached my stress limit the week before school started and circled Wednesday, the first day of school, as the day that I would get all the things done.
I would take the day by the horns. I would complete projects. I would clean house. I would grocery shop. I would run. I would start new projects. I would make appointments. I would schedule meetings. I would organize daycare files. I would respond to emails. I would finally get caught up.
And then the first day of school came!
I drank the coffee. I dressed the kids. I welcomed friends. I fed all the humans. I cleaned the kitchen. I managed a school drop off. I took all the pictures.
And when I got home….my time to take the day by the horns had finally come!
And I fell asleep.
I guess being self employed has it’s perks.
It also explains why I’m poor.
