There’s a meme going around with a punchline of Sweet Brown’s famous words, “Aint’ nobody got time for that”. I see pins on Pinterest all the time and often hear people tweet about how ‘ain’t nobody got time for that’, so I finally took the time to figure out where this originated from.
Basically you have people on YouTube who take REAL news stories and turn them into funny auto tunes songs. We saw it happen first with Antoine Dodson when he gave a real journalist his account about going after a man who broke into their home:
And then YouTubers made his energetic eye witness testimony into a song:
Sweet Brown is one of the latest victims in this game (last April)….here is her original news story:
And then the auto tunes version (quite catchy I might add):
The whole thing went viral and that’s how the meme was born. Now we are graced with images like these on Pinterest:
So now you know!
Anytime somebody asks you to do something you don’t want to do or you see a ridiculous pin on Pinterest (nail art), you just respond by saying, “Ain’t nobody got time for that” and BOOM…you made a joke.
What started off as a search for top viral YouTube videos of my favorite Michael Jackson song somehow turned into me compiling awesome Subway performer videos, which somehow led me to Geechee Dan “The Singing Dragon”.
I clicked on one video a stranger took while standing in the subway and it led to dozens more.
This man, Danny Small, has been performing in NYC subway stations for the past 12 years and he’s unreal. I became enamored with Geechee Dan and how he came to be the singing dragon and so I watched this:
Listening to him is like stepping back in time. You know…the 80′s. When we would roll around on the living room floor, breeze flowing through the front door while Dad played his old school records. Van Morrison, Ray Charles, The Temptations…those good ol’days.
Such incredible talent. And now I’m on the hunt for his cd…
Who doesn’t love a great time lapse video? Here are some of the most watched time lapse videos happening in nature.
This video of Sandy sweeping across NYC has accrued over five million views since it was posted:
This time lapse will take you around the world in under five minutes:
And finally, this time lapse flies you right over the world. Pretty awesome:
Watching videos like these actually kind of makes me want to stay in my house forever. As long as people are sharing their travels online there’s really no reason for me to leave.
Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers are my new (to me) favorite YouTube bands. I don’t subscribe to many music channels on YouTube. YouTube subscriptions read like a Google Reader for blogs. When I log in all the videos of people I subscribe to appear on a dashboard. And since I don’t have a ton of time to spend on YouTube, I try to reserve subscriptions for channels that make me laugh. But these guys are SO talented, I just can’t get enough.
Here are some of my favorite songs they’ve covered:
I love whales and dolphins. I don’t love them in giant fish tanks, I don’t love forcing them to do tricks, but I DO love them. Take a look at these awesome (or just funny) dolphin videos…
The captain of this boat said this was the largest pod of dolphins he’d ever seen. I mean, can you even imagine?:
Dolphins are SUPER friendly creatures…but this one took things a little too far.
I have no idea how this cat became friends with dolphins, but it’s adorable:
And this is just amazing! Imagine being on vacation in Brazil when dozens of dolphins beach themselves. Watch these beach goers come to the rescue!:
Such amazing creatures! I can see why so many people are drawn to them at aquariums.
