I have been having a lot of fun on YouTube with the new series I started where I try recipes that I find on product packages. I love checking out what brands think would be the BEST way to enjoy their food. I mean I always see the recipes listed on back or on the side panel, but other than Rice Krispy Treats…I really don’t ever try them. Until now!
I’ve already shared the first quiche I ever made using a recipe found on the can of evaporated milk (do not taste the milk straight from the can). I made a Sour Cream Coffee Cake that I was quite proud of by following the recipe on a box of brown sugar! I also made a few recipes from three different boxes of Nilla Wafers that I’m just now realizing I never posted about over here, but it was my first “Off The Box” video and the recipes were really fun. I thought the recipes I followed using Bisquick might make me sick and let’s not forget the fun we had with Spam.
Today I’m sharing a Sour Patch Kids Cookies recipe found on the back of a large bag of Sour Patch Kids and I put my baby nieces to work to help me accomplish the task at hand.
To make these cookies you only actually need 8 oz. of Sour Patch Kids and a box or bag of Sugar Cookie Mix. My nieces got busy first mixing together everything needed to make the sugar cookies and then we added Sour Patch Kids (after a very necessary taste test of course):
(video here)
As you can see we totally nailed it and the cookies were actually really good! A lovely fruity option to opt for over chocolate chip if you’re feeling a little fruity. My buddy Michael made a Sour Patch Valentine version of these cookies and per usual they turned out gorgeous for him. Check them out over at Inspired By Charm.
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Sour Patch Kids
- 1 Package Sugar Cookie Mix
Directions:
- Make sugar cookies according to package directions.
- Fold in Sour Patch Kids.
- Roll cookie batter into 1 inch balls and bake according to directions on Sugar Cookie package.
SO EASY! Enjoy!
